Here’s what we’ll do together:
Working as a Merchandise Planner with G-Star means we will expect you to have all the answers when it comes to any numbers related to the product! You will be the analytical counterpart of the merchandising team, work closely with the allocation team and with finance to align financial planning to merchandise planning. The department has a broad scope, but with two key components always present: planning and analysis.
This role is an interesting next step if you have gained considerable experience on the job in retail or fashion company. Either way, you can expect a steep learning curve, an ever-changing environment and a pivotal role within a leading global denim brand.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Translate financial plans into commercial plans and use this as a starting point for the season
- Develop global line plans in close cooperation with the Merchandising team to create an multi-region/channel assortment
- Continuously analyze the line plan to determine the width and breath of the collection and maintain a close eye on the pricing mix
- Develop the assortment plan (buying plan) to determine the right product for the right channels and stores
- Forecast sales, stock, markdown and margins (WSSI)
- Set up and maintain store clustering
- Determine pre-season OTB and drive the product department into the right strategy to fulfil the OTB
- Providing analytical support to the entire product department and reporting into management on performance
- Lead weekly trade meetings and steer the product teams into action
- Develop weekly trade reporting to get the right information available for the wider organization
- Analyze performance on Country, Store and SKU level
- Control warehouse and store inventory levels
- OTB management in-season following the WSSi
Profile
- Master/Bachelor degree in Business, Strategy or Economics or ample relevant work experience
- 2-5 years relevant work experience in a similar field
- You love numbers and data analysis and Excel has no secrets for you
- Close cooperation with peers to align way of working
- Cooperate daily with our other departments as well as cross channel teams
- Experience in WSSi is a plus
- Fluent in English, preferably also Dutch
