You will be involved in the mechanical hardware development, integration and validation of complex modules and components related to position, motion and force control.
Your daily work will involve:
Leading a small project team of engineers based on your level of seniority, technical expertise and social skills
Conceptual design of modules and components to meet functional and non-functional requirements including documenting the steps of the product development process (requirements definition, concept design, detailed design, validation)
Supporting technical decision making with analytical engineering, calculations and in-depth numerical simulations as conducted by your colleague analysts (FEM) and control engineers.
Detailed design of components (3D models, drawings), manufacturing follow-up and assembly support.
Constructing validation plans to verify performance requirements, supporting testing and reporting on test results.
MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3-8 years of work experience in a product development environment
Solid theoretical knowledge of engineering physics in the fields of mechanics
Knowledge of design principles for precision mechanisms to obtain repeatable system behavior and enable calibration of residual errors
Understanding how module level position, motion and force control requirements are derived from overall system performance requirements and translate these into technical requirements and design parameters at component level.
Practical knowledge of precision mechanism hardware components and measurement & calibration equipment
Experience in 3D CAD (Solid Works / Siemens NX)
Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of manufacturing processes such as machining, additive manufacturing, bonding and sheet metal
Familiarity with High Tech technology applications and their domain specific environments and requirements (cleanroom, vacuum, optics)
Ability to rapidly comprehend at a conceptual level
Ability to transfer your knowledge to team members
Proven experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders
