Our systems and associated services enable fast, reliable, goods handling in distribution centers, parcel and postal sortation facilities, as well as baggage handling at airports.

    Your department

    The Global Supply Chain organization plays a key role in the world-wide deliveries of products and services to Vanderlande solutions and consist of 3 Supply Chain Centers (SCC) in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Strategic Sourcing Europe is part of SCC Europe and is responsible for both Product- and Non Product related sourcing. The department is tasked to develop and maintain a stable and competitive supply base to support Vanderlande’s projects, services and sustainable profitability. Within Vanderlande, the department operates on both strategical and tactical level. There is a high degree of cooperation with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Service, Projects and other Supply Chain departments around the globe.

    We are looking for a Manager Strategic Sourcing EU responsible for the sourcing of categories related to Vanderlande Industries designed Equipment.

    Your role

    In this position, you lead the EU sourcing team for Vanderlande designed equipment , and play an essential part in assuring that we can fulfill our high growth ambitions. The sourcing team at Vanderlande is responsible for the implementation and realization of our sourcing strategy, through global category management, sourcing, supply chain and tactical supplier management.
    As Sourcing Manager you will work within an ambitious and dynamic international organization, reporting in a matrix structure and representing Sourcing in the SCC EU Management team.

    As Manager Sourcing EU you are responsible for the category group Vanderlande Industries Equipment. This category group contains a variety of sub-categories of mechanical/electrical components & assemblies. For these categories you will develop a strategy with your peers in Asia and North America under leadership of the Global Category Manager VI equipment and implement this in your specific region. Together as one global team you ensure the performance of your supply base on quality, delivery, service and cost competitiveness. You negotiate best contract conditions for Vanderlande and ensure a healthy relationships with your suppliers. Next to this you will also manage a few of our key assembly suppliers.

    Last but not least: you will develop the team to a best in class sourcing team supporting the business in their growth ambitions by coaching and actively supporting the sourcing managers in their day to day job.

    Your position responsibilities:

    In this role, you will:

    • Manage a team of Sourcing Managers (7 direct reports).

    • Identify the human resources needs, recruit with integrity, hire talented individuals and manage the growth and performance of the team

    • Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan for EU with the objective to get and keep the best supply base that is fully aligned with and covers the needs of Vanderlande’s business units

    • Manage and support the development and implementation of category strategies for categories like mechanical equipment & electrical equipment that are aligned with the needs of the business units

    • Manage the stakeholder buy in to ensure that the implementation of the strategy is effective

    • Develop and manage a supply base and build long-term strategic relationships with key supply partners in each category to support the Vanderlande businesses with a competitive advantage.

    • Manage the process of supplier selection, in line with the objectives of the category strategies.

    • Define expectations, create measures and implement strategies to improve supplier performance on Quality, Logistics, Technology, Total Cost and Sustainability.

    • Work closely together with other departments with SCC EU, which are involved in the sales and execution of projects to make sure we make optimal use of the supply base

    • Work closely together with the Manager Strategic Sourcing and local sourcing managers of other SCC’s in North Amerika and Asia-Pacific.

    • Drive supply chain management systems, procedures and work instructions compliancy

    • Improve and enforce the use of contract templates for the legal engagement of suppliers in collaboration with Legal Corporate Counsel.

    Your profile

    • A Master Degree in technical business, engineering, supply or supply chain management

    • Experience in a project-based industry is preferred.

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain, including a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

    • Strong analytical capabilities and result driven

    • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence at multiple levels in the organization

    • Sharp team player and active listener.

    • Excellent organization and negotiation skills

    • Strong people management skills and ability to coach, encourage, defend, and persuade others in a fast moving and challenging environment.

    • Global point of view and international experience, moving seamlessly between cultures.

    • Willingness to travel internationally.
