    Manager Flights Revenue Optimisation

    We’re looking for a Manager Flights Revenue Optimisation to join Booking.com’s Flights team. In order to accelerate growth of the business, the leader in this role will be responsible for driving flights revenue/sales performance in the near-term, using our existing pricing set up with our supply partner, while also identifying and solving key hurdles to developing our flights pricing capabilities and revenue growth strategies.

    As Manager Flights Revenue Optimisation, you will develop revenue, pricing, and sales analyses, plus lead actions with our supply partners, our product teams, and our marketing teams to optimise our direct and paid channel performance. You will also work closely with a technical pricing (ML) team to drive alignment on commercial objectives in development of flights pricing tools and will own setting/optimising the commercial input into those pricing tools when developed.

    As Manager Flights Revenue Optimisation you will be responsible for:

    • Developing the multi-channel revenue strategy for flights, setting pricing targets to optimise sales performance, identifying opportunities and driving initiatives for revenue growth, and achieving ROI and volume targets in our paid channels
    • Leading development of the foundations for long-term flights pricing capabilities by building the strategic plan, identifying hurdles to achieve our objectives, driving alignment and solutions with various teams, and eventually collaborating on technical development
    • Driving alignment on flights revenue strategy amongst internal and external teams, supporting decision-making by identifying and communicating strategic trade-offs generated by various flights initiatives
    • Working closely with the flights product marketing manager to ensure our pricing/revenue strategy is driving achievement of performance marketing objectives and financial targets, as well as supporting business case development and implementation of flights customer offers
    • Leading expansion of our price benchmarking capabilities to understand our price competitiveness in the market, own the flights price benchmark measurement, drive visibility to pricing KPIs, and work with our data team and supply partners to optimize price competitiveness in line with our strategic objectives
    • Collaborating with the flights data team and supply partners to design, plan, and launch pricing experiments aimed at building insights to support our short and long term pricing strategy development
    • Leading elements of our regular trading analysis with our supply partner to understand revenue and sales performance drivers and developing actions to optimise
    • Supporting our ancillary strategy development, working with product team, data teams, and our supply partners to leverage ancillary sales for revenue growth and pricing optimisation
    • Supporting analysis of sales and financial performance with our FP&A and flights data teams, identify opportunities, and recommend strategies and tactics to achieve business goals
    • Supporting and/or lead elements of the annual / quarterly strategic planning process
    • Collaborating with flights supply teams to evaluate impact of potential commercial deals with suppliers on our price competitiveness

    The ideal Manager Flights Revenue Optimisation will have:

    • A Bachelor's degree with (ideally) 7+ years' hands-on experience in Revenue Optimisation or equivalent position
    • Several years of commercial experience in the airline industry, especially in pricing or revenue management
    • Experience in flights industry competitive analysis and strategy development is highly desirable
    • Significant experience required in analysing performance data (pricing/revenue management data being a big plus)
    • Experience utilising various methods to uncover and communicate key findings, and creating models to drive revenue/pricing optimisation decisions
    • Experience working with a data analytics team to drive visibility on key business performance indicators through reporting and/or dashboard development and through coordination of deeper performance analyses is required
    • Experience working with teams to develop or enhance pricing / revenue management tools and technical capabilities is a plus
    • Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus
    • Significant experience in influencing stakeholders at multiple levels of the organisation
    • Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
    • Ability and preference to take ownership, entrepreneurial, proactive with positive attitude, a self-starter who can manage multiple initiatives/priorities
