The Biologicals Team is one of the pillars of the Manufacturing organization for securing the continuous availability of the biologicals and other materials for the ELISA manufacturing process. This group works with the following technologies: hybridoma-cultivation, cell cultivation, virus or recombinant protein production, purification and conjugation. A position has become available as Manager Biologicals Manufacturing to lead the Biologicals team that offers the combination of people management for the Biologicals group and technical/project support management for new product introductions. Key for this position is managing the Production Scientists, Manufacturing Technicians and Manufacturing Sciences Scientists within the Biologicals group. As Manager Biologicals Manufacturing you are focusing on development of individuals and team on competences and skills. Furthermore, you manage the team resources for sustaining Biologicals supply, new product introduction projects, Capex projects and escalations. As Manager Biologicals Manufacturing, you will be part of an enthusiastic team of technicians and scientists within the Manufacturing Team. The Manager Biologicals Manufacturing reports to the site leader and is part of the Site Leadership team.
Tasks and responsibilities
Key for this position is managing the Manufacturing biologics team (6 direct reports). As manager you are supporting your team members as a coach, helper and focusing on the development of individuals and team on competences and skills.
Track KPI’s for your team, be end responsible for biologicals stocks, responsible for batch releases and an up to date ERP System. You must secure the continuous availability of the biologicals and other materials for the manufacturing process.
Deliver the required products with the right quality on time, you secure the quality of the biologicals according to the specifications given.
First line of support for manufacturing problems concerning quality.
Responsible for the ramping up the manufacturing process if needed.
Lead and participate in projects within the biologicals team but also site management related projects.
Secure supply agreements with Procurement and identification of suppliers
Ensure the maintenance and compliance status of equipment and utilities.
Able to Write and maintain SOP’s.
Ensure together with the Manager Manufacturing ELISA the supply of finish products.
You are comfortable working in a corporate organization and work closely together with supporting functions and stakeholders e.g. RA, QA, R&D, Sales, Product management and Procurement. You can advise other departments on the use of biologicals or optimization of processes.
Knowledge and experience
Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a managerial/people leader role.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences like laboratory, biology, biochemistry, immunology or equivalent.
Proven experience with leading production processes such as hybridoma-cultivation, cell cultivation, virus or recombinant protein production, purification and conjugation.
Experience with quality systems (ISO, GMP) and ELISA.
Fluently in English (written and verbal) and preferably in Dutch.
Preferably biosafety officer qualifications.
