You have a degree in business, finance, sustainability, economics or related area and at least 5 years of experience in Corporate Finance, M&A and/or investment banking, “driving the deals”, preferably within an international and corporate environment. Ideally you have experience with forestry investments.
To take on this role, we are looking for someone with:
Knowledge of forestland as an asset class, or at least any other real asset.
Strong knowledge of financial theory on valuation, modelling, risk/return assessments etc.
Proven track record in complex transactions and negotiation experience.
Experience with investment decision-making forums.
Knowledge of how to balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability and how to strive making business within the limits of the planet.
Next to this, you have experience managing a team (preferably of local acquisition managers in different countries), an understanding of cultural differences and you are fluent in English (both spoken and written). You have good communication skills (concise, structured, positive, engaging). You inspire the team and can operate in a complex matrix organization. Building and maintaining business/investor/stakeholder relationships and creating strong networks across the sustainable business and investment landscape comes easily to you.
You demonstrate good judgment, high level of integrity, trustworthiness and maturity (independence); you can prioritize and take sound and common sense decisions. You have a strong drive to build and share knowledge. As a Forestland Portfolio Acquisition Manager (our way of saying M&A Manager), you will support Ingka Investments with a focus on investments in Forestland: allocating funds according to the target risk/return profile and ensuring the acquisition activities are done according to the internal governance requirements and within the approved thresholds.
More specifically, this means you will:
Take investment decisions within approved threshold and when outside the threshold support decision making (formulate investment proposals and recommendations for decision making by the appropriate decision forums).
Play an active role in identifying, defining and developing the investment strategy, investment theses and investable areas.
Pro-actively originate deal flow by building networks and partnerships with entrepreneurs, businesses, investors and financial institutions and positioning the investment unit in the market.
Review and effectively implement local acquisition programs.
Analyse, select and prioritize investment opportunities.
Lead deal execution (analysis, due diligence, negotiations, legal documents, closing).
Support portfolio management (representation, build relations, identify opportunities for value improvement, identify possible synergies).
Actively participate in other investment areas within the Ingka Investments.
Lead, coach and develop a high performing team that will strongly contribute to reach the objectives and goals in Ingka Investments.
Lead and develop the function in respect of both people and competences; identify and develop talents and ensure succession planning.
Create an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.
