Over de functie
As a Legal Counsel you will support the Senior Manager Legal handling legal issues and you will be the specialist on GDPR and privacy law issues. You provide practical and legally compliant advice on data protection law compliance.
1. Group Data Protection Officer (70%)
Inform Management on latest developments in national and European Data Protection Laws;
Report to Management on the business' compliance with applicable Data Protection Laws;
Advise business units on data protection questions upon request;
Monitor compliance of data processing activities with applicable data protection laws, policies and in relation to the protection of personal data;
Assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in data processing operations and support in preparing for the GDPR audit;
Advice on data protection impact assessment and monitor its performance if requested;
Draft, amend and update privacy policies;
Support and advice Sales Company Data Protection Leads with queries on implementing localized policies;
Advise on Privacy-By-Design for new and procured products and/or services
Review and/or draft/negotiate Data Processing Agreements.
2. Contracting (25%)
Draft, negotiate review, a wide range of procurement contracts, NDAs.
Instruct external legal counsel, if required.
Support Senior Legal Counsel with Global Account Division Contracts from time-to-time.
3. Corporate Housekeeping (5%)
Coordinating monthly JSox report;
Drafting board resolutions;
Executing changes to the corporate registers as required.
Knowledge, experience & skills:
Master's degree in law;
Legal work experience either in a law firm or in-house legal department advising on data protection law compliance and commercial contracting;
Strong interest and affinity with IT products and legal issues applicable to procuring and selling IT solutions;
Fluent spoken and written English with ability to explain legal issues in plain English;
Can-do and professional attitude;
Demonstrate professional history of working with integrity;
Must be able to exercise independent advisory role and where applicable independent decision-making.
Experience in creating and delivering in-house legal trainings;
Legal research skills;
Willingness to travel, if required.
