    Here’s what we’ll do together:
    The Legal Counsel position is a generalist role and will involve managing and supporting projects across the range of legal areas supported by the Legal team, and providing legal work. You must have capability to adapt to changing priorities in line with the business and organizational needs. In addition, you are able to operate independently in a fast changing environment and will work proactively with cross functional teams of the business of G-Star across the world. The position will report to the General Counsel and will be a collaborative role partnering with the other two other professionals.
    You will work on issues relating to corporate and operations, in particular commercial contracting, digital and data related topics, as well as corporate matters and processes, regulatory and compliance or legal aspects of marketing campaigns.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assist with day-to-day legal team organisation and operations
    • Drafting, reviewing and revising a variety of contracts and other legal documents (with the assistance of senior counsel as needed)
    • Legal research and maintaining the department’s knowledge system
    • Contribute to compliance and process optimisation with the aim on risk control
    • Drafting and managing legal templates, rules and guidelines (in collaboration with senior legal counsel)
    • Manage and maintain the contracts management system, corporate housekeeping systems, compliance programs and policies including GDPR (currently: Legisway and Privacy Perfect)
    • Make significant contributions to process design efforts to positively impact the Legal team
    • Support and manage various projects within the department as they arise.


    What you bring to the table:
    • 2 – 5 years of relevant working experience, ideally as a paralegal/legal associate/legal counsel, or as a contracts manager in an international digital and consumer oriented environment;
    • Experience in corporate housekeeping and commercial contracts, some additional knowledge on e-commerce and digital consumer laws is a plus;
    • Dutch qualified lawyer
    • Proven knowledge of technology, project management skills
    • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, as well as being a self-starter and a team player
    • Detail-oriented, organised, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills
    • Good people skills to work closely with colleagues at all levels and in all areas of the international organization
    • Excellent English and Dutch written and verbal communication skills required. An additional European language is a plus.
