The Legal Counsel, under the supervision of General Counsel, will work on a broad range of legal matters. The Legal Counsel will give legal advice to management about all relevant issues.
Effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure; and
Advise supervisory board, affiliated entity boards, and departments/staff, solicited and unsolicited, in all legal areas including (international) employment law, contract law, corporate law, civil law, intellectual property, disputes and international human rights law.
Responsible for advising the HR department on labour and employment law issues including Works Council matters;
Responsible for advising the regional offices with corporate law and international labour law matters;
Responsible for corporate affairs, including compliance and training;
Responsible for contract law matters;
Assesses and prepares contracts with customers, suppliers, partners, etc.;
Collaborates and coordinates with external legal advisors/specialists;
Provides support to the Standards Assurance team; and
Assists in global management of trademark and other intellectual property portfolio including disputes, registrations and licensing.
Deliver business legal services;
Keep knowledge up to date through training and technical information by own initiative; and
Attend relevant meetings, projects meetings, events and conferences, etc.
Minimum 6 years of legal experience (either in a law firm or in house) preferably with international experience;
Master’s degree in Dutch law;
An affinity towards sustainable and corporate social responsibility;
Experience with Dutch employment law, including Works Councils matters;
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in Dutch and English; and
Excellent intercultural skills.
Commensurate with experience.
