    ApplySummary
For the always growing environment at Trengo, we are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our finance team. In this role, you effectively communicate Trengo’s key ethical principles and regulations and support all different stakeholders in the organization to "think compliance", from legal to GDRP. With your knowledge of laws and regulations, you are vital in ensuring that we have the right means and processes to adequately measure and manage the risks we face. It seems like a lot of work, but you can always rely on your team. And if it is not enough, you will have the possibility to build your own team in the long run. That's the beauty of a startup! We do this together.
Trengo is the market-leading customer service platform for customer service focussed companies, such as eCommerce shops, retailers. With Trengo, companies can efficiently scale their customer service and provide a high-quality customer experience. This is possible with the adoption of different channels from phone, email, and Whatsapp messages, to chatbox and social channels. With an exceptional a-round investment of $36M lead by Insights Partners and Peak Capital, we are strengthening our position in the Netherlands and accelerating our rapid growth in Europe.
    What your day looks like
Let's break down this vision into a little taste of your work at Trengo:

    • You work with different business units and the management team to ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place and set guidelines on how to respond to a possible compliance breach.
    • You design or update internal policies to mitigate the risk of the company breaking laws and regulations.
    • You support and are in charge of educating different kinds of stakeholders in the company not only complying with laws, regulations, and data security but also taking actions with those in mind.
    • In the event of a regulatory breach, you learn from our mistake and set appropriate disciplinary measures in place to avoid a future recurrence.

    What we expect
Now that you know a bit about us, can you tell us a bit about you? I hope you can identify yourself with some of these:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Law.
    • Approximately 3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
    • You are an expert when it comes to GDPR.
    • You are always aware of where possible regulatory breaches may occur and are able to identify and manage regulatory risk. So, you do not lack attention to detail.
    • You have high ethical standards and honesty that are needed to ensure we adhere to required regulations.
    • You lead by example. You are reliable, showing everyone your commitment and unity in relation to following regulations and procedures.

    What we offer
This is what we carefully prepared for you:

    • Finding yourself in a fast-growing company, where your career can evolve: we're aiming to be 90 people in team Trengo, by the end of the year. 2020 was epic and, best believe it, 2021 is looking bright on our side.
    • Free sessions with on-demand psychologists from OpenUp. Your mental health is important to us.
    • A learning budget to feed your curiosity and 2 extra days off for your courses or conferences, if needed.
    • For when we're back in the office: you can bet we have delicious warm lunches together. Also, your expenses for traveling to happy Utrecht will be reimbursed.
    • Everything you need to work safely and comfortably from home during the pandemic: 4k screen, MacBook, noise-canceling headphones, desk, chair, etc.
