    Learning & Development Manager

    As Learning & Development Manager you have an important role to bring Backbase to the next level as one of our core priorities for 2022 is "Empowering People to Grow".

    You are responsible for all our soft skill, personal development and leadership development programs. In some cases you will develop and deliver content yourself, whereas in other cases you screen and implement external content (e.g. off the shelf e-learnings) or engage with external partners for program creation and delivery.

    A key priority for us is to develop an extended leadership development program in 2022 and you will be able to bring in your experience, passion and creativity to make a big impact at Backbase!


    Key Responsibilities:

    L&D Manager

    • Develop and execute the training strategy by developing and conducting soft skills learning programs and leadership program etc.
    • Conduct training needs assessments with various stakeholders such as managers and HR BPs and design, coordinate and deliver a comprehensive range of programs and tools that support leadership development and training strategies
    • Search, select, and manage external training solutions/vendors
    • Develop budget requirements and oversee spend
    • Ensure training preparation and logistics are executed in collaboration with our Talent Development Coordinator
    • Evaluate learning success using a combination of quantitative and qualitative measures, such as surveys, competency assessments, etc.
    • Lead projects to improve processes, tool and systems for learning & development

    L&D Business Partner

    • Support and coach managers in leadership topics, e.g. how to have conversations with their people about their strengths, development needs and career aspirations
    • Partner with managers to build insight into existing levels of capability against future requirements and identify learning programs and plans
    • Advise colleagues and managers on the best use of innovative learning solutions to improve development.

    L&D Trainer/Facilitator

    • Facilitate complex internal learning events and workshops, delivering content as appropriate including some manager and employee trainings, onboarding programs as well as certain leadership development activities
    • Be an expert in multiple delivery fashions, such as online or in-person trainings, workshops, coaching, streaming, ...

    L&D Instructional Designer

    • Instructional design of information sites (e.g. Confluence) and learning content such as presentations, videos, manuals or quick guides, etc.
    • Partner with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to develop a learning solution

    How about you

    • You have a Masters degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or similar area;
    • You have 5+ years of experience in a learning & development oriented role;
    • You have proven track record of creating the learning strategy and learning programs for an organization with at least 500 people in multiple locations;
    • You are an experienced trainer and have conducted trainings or workshops (both in person and virtual) for up to 50 employees at a time as well as delivered leadership training
    • A completed coaching education or experience with coaching is a plus
    • You have a strong influencing & relationship building skills
    • You are able to communicate concisely to stakeholders at an operational and tactical level;
    • You are able to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines as needed;
    • You have an eye for detail & structured working style;
    • You have very good communication, presentation and delivery skills and are able to explain complex topics in an easy way - both written and verbal
    • You have good knowledge of working tools (e.g. Google Suite);
    • You are enthusiastic, well organised and flexible;
    • You take initiative and have a positive 'getting-things-done' attitude;
    • You are able to see inefficiencies and making things better continuously.
