As the Lead Engineer Rotor Systems testing, you will hold an instrumental role in operating the rotor and the pitch bearing rigs at the WMC Technology Center Netherlands. You will participate in complex research, test and validation programs aiming to improve design and understand and prevent failures occurring in wind turbine rotor systems. You will be working in a dynamic team of professionals sharing the ambition to fulfil strategic and business needs of the company.
Essential Responsibilities :
Support in defining rotor test programs including preparing the project plan, determining the project budget, planning of resources and facilities, etc.
Lead the design of test methods, equipment, documentation and relevant systems
Lead the preparation of test plans
Lead the test execution and reporting results
Coordinate the installation of new devices under test (DUT) in the test rigs, including the preparation of work plans
Lead the commissioning of the test rigs with new DUT’s
Support in preparing and reviewing risk assessment plans
Lead the preparation of quality plans including checklists, quality standards, calibration reports
Support in the identification and qualification of potential suppliers
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and/or validation of wind turbine’s mechanical systems
Proven experience in leading by example when it comes to EHS and Quality
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary projects in a multicultural environment.
Experience in executing measurement campaigns related to wind turbines
Experienced with wind turbine rotor systems, including their designs, components, dynamical behavior, wear and tear, etc.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Valid permit to work and live in European Union
Willingness to travel
It is an advantage if you have:
Practical knowledge with 3-D CAD programs
Knowledge of Wind turbine Standards and Design Codes
