    Lead Artist

    We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and highly motivated Art Lead to help visualize the future of virtual reality and lead the art team in creating leading world class enterprise experiences.

    The successful candidate is an excellent communicator, leads by example and inspires teams to create world class content. In this role you will lead the creative team, utilizing your exceptional people and technical art skills.

    In this role you will:

    • Work with the discipline leads to lead art production per project;
    • Manage and mentor the Netherlands based art team, balancing quality and productivity;
    • Running daily stand-ups with the art team;
    • Engage in daily, active communication at a company wide level to represent your discipline and actively discover where your insight is required with a sense of urgency;
    • Create and manage art documentation;
    • Be an expert authority within your specialization and well versed in several related subjects. Keep up to date with (or ahead of) industry developments and propose and coordinate implementation of innovative improvements;
    • Collaborate with the art director to establish art design visions and complex compound art solutions as well as creating benchmark art assets.

    Skills and abilities we are looking for:

    • At least 4 years of experience shipping games or products in Unity as a visual artist;
    • At least 3 years of experience leading a team of artists;
    • Working knowledge of industry standard 3D/2D content creation tools (Maya, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Substance Painter/Designer, Zbrush, Mudbox);
    • Strong artistic sense of shape, proportion and color. Practical experience combining lighting (baked & realtime), reflections, post-processing FX, and emerging rendering techniques to make scenes visually compelling;
    • Flexible and adaptable to new tools, environments, and unexpected challenges;
    • Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills.

    One or more of these is a plus:

    • Formal Art Degree/Education;
    • Experience with and/or passion for VR/AR/MR;
    • Drawing/painting ability.
