Be the chief architect of how we organize, create, curate and activate our design knowledge, craft and insights. Not only will you have structural expertise to help us organize our information across multiple channels and platforms, but you’ll also be a compelling storyteller, who will be able to translate complex constructs into compelling content which can cut through the clutter, and reach the right audiences who need these insights in the moments that matter.
Within Philips Experience Design (XD) we have a wealth of knowledge, insights and design expertise to lead and accelerate Philips’ transformation and mission. The challenge we face is ensuring our global design community has easy and timely access to curated knowledge and insights that are relevant, inspiring, trusted, accurate, effective and more importantly actionable. You will be the proud ambassador and activator of our XD wisdom and design expertise, working in a cross functional team beyond XD to connect and amplifying our XD knowledge with the broader Innovation and Strategy organization within Philips. Our XD knowledge and insights are first and foremost people focused, extracted from people and trends research, as well as pulled from real time usability fieldwork. In the right hands, it is from these insights that we can collectively reimagine and redesign the future of healthcare, at an accelerated pace.
You are responsible for
Establishing an overarching information architecture for the global experience design organization:
Evaluating and communicating which tools should be the standard toolset for the XD community for storage and management of knowledge, including file naming, standardized taxonomy etc.;
Identifying gaps and demands regarding knowledge & insights for XD projects and programs
Building a network of knowledge managers across the various communities of practice who follow standards of content hygiene you create and gain buy in for;
Assess and learn how information will be disseminated in a smooth and systematized process.
Creating compelling content for distribution across the global XD Community:
Translate long form content (eg. Whitepapers) into more bite size social posts and/or videos to engage and entice our design community to consume and absorb the long form content;
Coordinate and reach out to content generation teams for sustainable content creation.
Actively curate top priority channels within the XD community:
Collect, hunt and update a constant flow of insights and stories from around the world;
Curate insights and safeguard quality;
Fuel roadmap of supporting infrastructure, sharing, communication platforms to support knowledge management.
Amplifying and activating of our XD wisdom and design expertise, across XD, Philips and beyond:
Initiate and create joint activities within cross functional knowledge teams and company partners to strengthen connection and aid information; exchange within key processes and programs
Communicate and inspire XD audience by sharing knowledge and insights;
Collaborate and build relationships with networks of design’s research leads and cross-departmental knowledge counterparts;
Ownership XD academy by streamlining knowledge & expertise requirements for development purposes;
Promote and utilize XD knowledge assets.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
A (combined) bachelor or master degree in Communication, Strategic Design, Industrial Design, Social and Behavior sciences, Psychology, or Medical degree;
Two to four years of experience in translating and communicating insights for (strategic healthcare) business areas;
Strong analytical and verbal & visual communication skills, as well as the affinity to adapt communication styles across a variety of audiences and channels;
Strong program management skills to lead uncharted avenues to successful knowledge management proof points;
Professional communication and multi-stakeholder collaboration skills when working with multiple disciplines, also at CxO level;
Recognized for your expertise and talent in a translating information into actionable insights and storytelling to support strategic business purposes and its innovations and influencing skills taking multiple stakeholders along as part of change management corresponding to innovation trajectories;
Ability to lead multiple stakeholder sessions and conversations in English and one or more other languages such as German, Spanish or Mandarin.
