At our Amsterdam-based center Wacker Biotech B.V. focuses on the GMP-compliant microbial based production of recombinant proteins, vaccines and live microbials as drug substance and drug product. We are currently looking to recruit an (Junior/Associate) Scientist Microbiology BPD (f/m/d).
The (Junior/Associate) Scientist Microbiology (f/m/d) is involved in the preparation and execution of microbial (testing and process) related activities in the BioProcess Development team. The BioProcess Development team has 8 employees in total and in addition you are closely working together with the QC Microbiology team, working on various pharmaceutical products.

Your Tasks Set up/develop microbial testing methods (e.g. (viable) cell counts, microscopy, purity)
Execute microbial tests on development samples, assist on development fermentations
Manage execution within a timely manner and align tasks with supervisor/manager
Responsible for appropriate safety compliance
Your Profile At least a BSc level of education in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences.
Experience with microbial culturing (medium preparation, inoculation, fermentation), and microbiological analytical methods (e.g. (viable) cell counts, microscopy, FACS)
Accurate, structured, flexible, and quality and safety conscious
Team player with a high degree of autonomy
Good Dutch and English written and oral communicative skills
