    Junior Head Chef

    Do you have a passion for hospitality? Do you always lead by example and motivate your team to deliver quality day in and day out for our various F&B outlets in the hotel ? Are you a precise and structured chef, who also has a talent for administration? Then you could be our Junior Head Chef at Park Centraal Amsterdam!


    As Junior Head Chef you will be part of the F&B team and report to the F&B Manager. The kitchen is responsible for our unique a la carte breakfast concept, six banquet & event rooms, room service and Bar Claes. Currently, our kitchen team consists of a breakfast chef, two chef de partie and a stewarding assistant. The beauty of this role is that you will work with the F&B manager to build the kitchen team and optimize the kitchen structure. Together with our Executive Chef you will be able to think about new F&B menus.

    About You

    • You are an experienced and hands-on chef and ensure proper professional work standards, productivity and practices;
    • You are responsible for the overall success of daily kitchen operations;
    • Creative and highly organized with a career that has a good track record of progression and stability within the roles you have held;
    • You are a natural leader, with good communication skills and know how to connect with different people and cultures.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage, motivate/coach and train the team by coordinating the activities of the kitchen;
    • Plan and execute departmental goals to achieve shortages and prepare and develop new menus;
    • Experience managing food costs (predicting supply needs and estimating costs);
    • Securing the kitchen complies with all regulations, including sanitation and safety guidelines;
    • You will need extensive knowledge of best practices regarding food hygiene standards;
    • Interview & selection and training & development of employees;
    • Flexibility to respond to different work situations (including scheduling).

    • Completed chef study;
    • Qualification in food hygiene;
    • Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages in word and writing;
    • Have been working as a sous chef or in a similar role for at least the last two years;
    • Have an operational mind-set and that drives innovative ideas to increase guest satisfaction and revenue;
    • Flexibility in working mornings/evenings and weekends;
    • Start date: April 1, 2021.
