    Job Description

    Would you like to gain work experience in privacy and data protection at an international organization and have an internship under the supervision of data protection experts at Avery Dennison? Then we might have the perfect opportunity for you.

    We are looking for a motivated student with an interest in data protection and related matters such as data inventory, data retention and data breaches. As a Privacy and Data Protection Intern, you will support the legal department and work closely with specialists in the data protection field. You will focus on monitoring and ensuring compliance with privacy and data protections laws and regulations as well as support day to day activities.

    Tasks:

    • Conduct research on multiple privacy topics
    • Expand and monitor data inventory for different jurisdictions/regions, including: EEA, Turkey, Brazil, California, China
    • Monitor data flows and ensure compliance in regards to international data transfers
    • Support vendor management process including data processing agreement review
    • Support risk assessment in the event of potential security incidents
    • Enhance processes around data retention

    Qualifications

    We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated and who are:

    • Following a Bachelor or Master degree in Privacy and Data protection or in Big Data with a focus on Data Privacy
    • Accomplished in English Communication
    • Proficient with Ms Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Google Suite applications is a plus.
    • Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills
    • Team player as well as able to work independently
    • Well organized and structured in their work

    The preferred start date is January 15, 2021, and the ideal candidate is available for 3-5 days a week for a duration of 12 months.
