Your core function in this role is to produce market- and competitor studies, comparing AkzoNobel with its international counterparts and peers in our markets. This involves analyses in which you comment on financial figures and ratios from AkzoNobel’s most important competitors.
An understanding of finance and a natural eagerness to search for and report on relevant facts and developments is important, as this can deliver a competitive edge for AkzoNobel. Another part of the role is around project management support in M&A projects in which the Business Analyst has a key role in supporting the M&A Director in obtaining information on the target business from various parts of AkzoNobel and managing the Q&A process through an electronic data room.

Responsibilities and deliverables
Within this context your key objective is to transform strategic and operational information into market intelligence and insights. You are accountable for the accuracy of facts and figures as a basis for making decisions.
In the course of your activities you interact with a wide range of internal contacts at all levels of our BUs and BAs. They include high-level executives and financial management, marketing professionals, legal experts and financial analysts. You also take part in working groups.
External contacts include suppliers of coatings and chemicals related reports and market research agencies.
University degree in Finance, Business Administration or alike;
Starter: 0-3 years of experience;
Advanced analytical skills and the ability to ‘visualize’ information;
A broad vision of economic development in the world;
Interested in marketing and market intelligence;
Team player with a powerful capability to build contacts, enthuse colleagues and take the initiative;
Fluent written and spoken English, any other language is an asset.
