    Intern, FP&A, Mass, Benelux

    Overview:
    The role:

    The main purpose of this role is to be of assistance to the FP&A Manager in providing both support and challenge to drive profitable growth of the business. The candidate will be a key member of the Benelux Mass Team and assist with all aspects of the month end close process, reporting and planning activities and undertake business partner duties Other key responsibilities are to provide ad hoc analysis and support to business partners, solving problems and answering queries in agreed time lines.

    Duration 6 months, start date as soon as possible

    What you will do:
    • Support the FP&A Manager in the preparation of accurate and timely reporting of monthly and YTD financial performance of the business including tracking & analysis of costs vs budget & forecast as well as analysis of variances - both for internal reporting as well as submissions to Regional / Global teams
    • Support the FP&A Manager with the Annual Budget and monthly Forecasting processes. Work with the relevant business partners in developing/aligning their assumptions for input
    • Support the FP&A Manager in business partnering – building strong relationships with commercial teams and foster an environment of supportive commercial challenge to ensure delivery against agreed targets. Analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators in order to highlight commercial opportunities and risks in particular to revenue, margin and profit.
    • Support the FP&A Manager in other ad-hoc activities for example:
      • Regular updates for the Customer P&Ls setup for the two countries – retailer margin analysis
      • NPD profitability / analysis on pricing, level of promotions and COGs of NPDs
      • Trade spend and COGS analysis
      • Projects

    What you will need:
    • Student working towards or qualified with a management accounting / finance / commercial finance degree , with a strong affinity for finance and having an analytical mindset
    • Excellent Communication skills
    • Highly motivated & enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
    • Strong systems skills including Advanced Excel (V look ups, Pivot tables etc...)
    • A self-starter with proactive drive to deliver within challenging time lines. Ability to see the bigger picture and trends whilst maintaining a robust attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to challenge or influence colleagues to obtain clarity/understanding and to meet tight time lines
    • Interest in managing/preparing and consolidating monthly management reporting, annual budgets/plans and updated annual forecasts. Good understanding of accounting principles and their application
    • To be comfortable to operate in a matrix organisation, deal with varying levels of ambiguity and ability to influence different levels in the organisation across all countries in the region to ensure the EMEA Finance requirements are delivered
    • Good commercial acumen, an analytical and inquisitive mindset and a track record of delivering continuous improvements to processes, systems and reporting
