    Job Description

    In this role, you have the opportunity to

    Being responsible for managing and maintaining hundreds of microscopes and related parts. You will be advising scientists to select and configure microscopes, doing preventive maintenance, working with our suppliers and train new users on our microscopes.

    This is a unique role on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven where you will be able to build exceptional skills regarding our shared microscope service.

    You are responsible for

    As Instrumentation Engineer Microscopes, you will be:

    • Managing microscopes and related equipment on High Tech Campus;
    • A competence owner for microscope equipment;
    • Supporting users to visualize their R&D samples by selecting/configuring microscopes;
    • Providing basic microscopy training for new users;
    • Running our yearly preventive maintenance of all microscopes: planning, executing and/or outsourcing of maintenance to a 3rd part supplier;
    • Maintaining relationships with our suppliers (Leica is one of our key suppliers);
    • Outsourcing complex/unique services to suppliers (find right balance of hands-on and outsourcing);
    • Supporting with Leica software to control/automate microscopes and related camera's;
    • Purchasing additional microscope (parts) if needed.

    A close team of engineering experts managing 12.000 instruments on the High Tech Campus. You will be reporting into the Group Leader Environment & Safety and will be based out of Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • A technical education (e.g. mechanics, electronics, physics) is mandatory;
    • At least 5 years of experience as Field service/Maintenance Engineers – or in a related field is mandatory;
    • Proven experience maintaining microscopes will be mandatory as well;
    • Languages: Fluency in business English – knowledge of the Dutch language would be a pro;
    • We are looking for a highly customer oriented professional with strong communication skills;
    • Supportive attitude towards clients and colleagues.
