Director, Technical Content Development and Localization
What You Will Be Doing
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for development of our technical training content and learning paths. This role will work closely with internal customer teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Compliance, Support, and others) to ensure accurate, timely technical training is available for all ChargePoint hardware and software products. You will collaborate with technical writers and illustrators to develop interactive training experiences for installers and other technical audiences. To be successful at ChargePoint this person must be highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
Develop and maintain training content in the learning management system (LMS)
Create and maintain interactive learning activities, course content and instructional videos to install, use and service ChargePoint products (hardware and software)
Able to learn complex technical products quickly and produce technical training with the assistance of subject matter experts
Actively gather information from and collaborate with engineers, QA engineers, and product managers to identify and capture learning content
Develops scalable solutions to ensure all training programs are consistent and ready for a global audience
Design, develop and conduct assessments and evaluations
Project manage all phases of a learning project – analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistency and clarity across all training and documentation
Work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting tight deadline
Minimum of 2-4 years in the design and development of instructional material in a complex product environment (Hardware AND Software)
Experience working within a LMS is required, with LearnUpon and Docebo solutions a plus
Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions
Able to write behavioural objectives, tests, and course materials using instructional design theories
Demonstrated ability to distill technical information from subject matter experts and translate it into training relevant to target audience
Bachelor's degree preferred
Curriculum Development or Instructional Design/Technology
Education degree acceptable
Proficient in Articulate Storyline 360 or other course authoring tools
Experience with developing localized courses and content in the specific language/region of the target audience.
Experience with raster and vector-based image editing with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
Experience with HTML and CSS document authoring within source control management systems (like git)
Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools is a plus
