Team International Infrastructure
Within the Athlon International IT organization, the team International Infrastructure focusses on delivering classical and cloud infrastructure services to the (internal) customer. The (internal) customer can be one of the Athlon IT application teams or the Athlon business. The services delivered consist of (amongst others):
Middleware services like Databases, workload automation, file transfer
The team International Infrastructure delivers the larger part of the services via Daimler IT. In that case, the International Infrastructure team keeps governance over the delivered services, clarifies the Athlon specifics and has a helicopter view on the infrastructure landscape.
Several services are delivered by the team International Infrastructure itself. This is the case when the service can or will not be delivered by Daimler IT or in cases where the infrastructure is delivered on a cloud platform.
The Athlon IT landscape is highly hybrid, with part of the applications running in a classical datacenter situation and part of the applications running on cloud platforms. The goal of Athlon IT is to move towards cloud infrastructure where this offers benefits to the organization.
The operational model of the infrastructure team is “demand” “deploy” “operate”.
The role of Infrastructure Service Owner is an important role within the International Infrastructure team. Due to several running projects there is a need for an extra Service Owner within the team. This extra Service Owner will mainly work as backfill to the existing Service Owner
Infrastructure Service Owner (medior/senior)
The Service Owner is responsible for the complete lifecycle and governance of all related services for Athlon International, including Contract management, service management, cost overview and budgeting on the classical datacenter infrastructure. The technical life cycle and roadmap are defined by the infrastructure architect and enterprise application architects, input will also come from Daimler ITT or other service providers.
The Service Owner role is not the technical expert role. The focus is on definition, managing of the processes of the services that this team delivers on datacenter services for the Athlon application teams. Still knowledge of, and an interest in, what you are talking about is needed.
Changes, services and projects on the service scope are defined, managed and aligned with Daimler and other service providers.
Maintaining good relations with clients (Athlon application teams in other countries, Daimler in Stuttgart and internal departments in The Netherlands) is important in this role. Getting the countries and Daimler aligned is a challenge which the Service Owner will take on.
