    Infrastructure Project Manager (IT integration)

    About the team:

    IT Mergers & Acquisitions play a key role in the purchase of companies by Cognizant. Our team leads all IT due diligence activities for every deal, and then the real work begins – integration! Our team manages all work to integrate both systems and infrastructure into the Cognizant standard.

    This is a key role for our team, leading due diligence and integration of our M&A entities.

    Role overview:

    Our European acquisitions are typically integrated into the Cognizant technology environment, and each acquisition requires a project lead to successfully project manage the technology integration. The role is covering typical project management tasks including developing and managing the plan, risks, issues, dependencies and reporting; as well as coordinating across the various business and technology teams within both Cognizant and the acquired business. The integration project lead will also be heavily involved with the integration design, adhering to Cognizant standards. You will lead less complex integrations, with support from the IT implementation teams as required, as well as provide support to senior team members during larger, more complex integration projects. In addition to the integration activity, you could also lead the remediation activity to bring a non-integrated businesses up to the required Cognizant standard, which may occur prior to integration.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Lead and drive work with cross-functional teams to achieve IT M&A deliverables across the post-deal phase of the M&A lifecycle including confirmatory due diligence, integration and post-merger integration handover to the support teams.
    • Effectively communicate confirmatory diligence findings to internal stakeholders, BU & Corporate Developments teams. Provide cost estimations, integration approach, and plans for IT Infrastructure Integrations.
    • Work with Cognizant Corporate Development to identify the RAID items (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) in the M&A IT infrastructure integration.
    • Organize, lead, and manage various IT integration workshops for newly acquired companies. Formulate integration strategies that support deal value drivers. Collaborate with multiple technology SME and business stakeholders.
    • Work with the wider technology teams to propose overall IT infrastructure and systems integration strategy and associated timelines. Ensure approval / sign-off from functional stakeholders such as Business, Corporate Development, Corporate Security and IT leadership team.

    • Promote standard, repeatable processes that ensure integration project timelines are consistently achieved.
    • Collaborate with acquired entity IT associates to extend Cognizant IT standards into the acquired footprint. Act as advocate between acquired IT team and Cognizant extended IT team. Evangelize Cognizant IT processes, tools and team structure with the acquired entity teams.
    • Represent Cognizant IT during recurring status calls with Corporate Development and internal leadership; present the weekly status on the M&A integrations.
    • Develop standard communication plan and associated templates to ensure technical integration activities are easily understood and consumed by end user community.
    • Investigate acquired company vendor contracts. Understand the associated procurement needs and risks. Identify synergy opportunities in respect to contract consolidation. Work with Procurement and Vendor Management Office to achieve contract integration.
    • Drive evergreen process within our acquisitions playbook and associated documentation sets, applying lessons learned and best practices as part of project retrospective.
    • Travel ready – both domestic and international (20% of time involved in travel).
    • Provide support to the senior team members during larger or complex integrations.
    • Proactively share M&A knowledge, experience with the wider team.

    Qualifications & skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree with relevant IT or Computer science background.
    • Relevant experience, preferably at a leading company, and relevant experience leading M&A integrations.
    • Relevant IT project management experience, ideally on infrastructure implementation projects, including office moves, endpoint deployments etc.
    • Must possess strong documentation skills, and the ability to work in rapidly changing, fast paced environment.
    • Ability to lead project work with a highly matrixed project team.
    • Exceptionally collaborative, flexible and adaptable when working with customers and various teams.
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.
    • Excellent soft skills at all levels within an organisation, with the ability to communicate complex technology solutions to senior business stakeholders.
    • Technically savvy and experience with cloud services, network communications, collaboration tools, enterprise tools, endpoints, servers, messaging and software is a plus.
    • PMP and ITIL certifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
