As Industrialization Engineer (plastics, aluminums, rubbers and elastomers), you are the bridge between product development and production. During the development phase, you will make sure that industrial requirements are well understood by product developers. You cooperate with stakeholders to advise the supply chain and manufacturing concepts of new products for optimal costs.
Your tasks are divided in 3 different phases.
Concept development (NCD)
Support technology roadmap by actively propose new materials and technologies.
Support technical review meetings and define technical needs. Highlight technical material risks in an early stage (technical review sessions).
Determine part and production cost targets during the early development stages.
Determine mold costs in the early development stage as input for the BC
Review parts and advice on cost effective manufacturability – internal DFM
Finalize material and process selection (production readiness review/report).
Review RFQ’s and give cost related data to sourcing team.
Define needs - scout new technologies and suppliers.
Initiate supplier assessment activities by visiting new suppliers and reviewing the supplier capabilities.
Involve and support sourcing strategy activities.
Product development/Engineering (NPD)
Make sure that Industrial requirements are well-understood and taken into account by engineering, during the product development phase.
Review external DFM’s together with product developers. Consult them for the part optimization.
Ensure optimum process capability, adherence to quality standards.
Determine the tooling and allocation strategy together with stakeholders.
You will report to Dennis Akkermans (Head of Engineering).
You have a Bachelor Degree in Material Science, with 6-8 years relevant working experience
You have knowledge about materials like plastic, aluminum, rubbers, elastomers
You have knowledge about Cost calculation tools and the ability to share knowledge
