Facilities Operations Center Coordinator: Europe
As the European Facilities Operations Center (FOC) Coordinator you will be based out of the IDEXX EMEA Headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, and in this new position you will expand FOC capabilities to all European IDEXX locations. The core competencies of this position are the operational supervision of contracted security service providers, security and communications technology, and incident management. Raising the standard of security and mitigation of diverse business threats and their response will be the key objectives.
As the Facilities Operations Center Coordinator, you will work closely with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, such as the EHS function, PMO Facility Managers, IDEXX Reference Laboratory Managers, the Human Resources, Legal, Internal Audit and Senior Leadership team. You will also be the liaison officer for Local and National Law Enforcement Organizations and regulatory institutions. And last but not least the day-to-day oversight, management and collaboration with our third-party security providers. This position is spider in the web between the Global Facilities Operations Center and the European capability of that function. All communications, security concerns, risk assessments and risk mitigation proposals, oversight and contract management will funnel through this position.
In This Role
You will build a strong and resilient network among our European locations and the IDEXX Facilities Operations Center based in Westbrook, Maine.
You will recognize key players and proactively develop strong working relationships within the extended European team.
You will develop a quantifiable risk assessment standard for all European locations to spotlight needs and opportunities, then use this assessment to benchmark locations, in order to develop plans for Facility Project Managers in advance of modification or renovation projects.
You will establish a comprehensive and interlocked security program for Europe that addresses best practices and standard operating procedures.
You will conduct investigations, mine data, and provide summary reports of findings and recommendations.
You will own the Incident Command role for the IDEXX EMEA Headquarters; Oversee relevant planning, coordination, logistics, training, and tactical leadership. Emergencies may include material spills, medical responses, and security matters.
You will be the primary liaison with outside law enforcement agencies, create opportunities to ensure familiarity with contacts and keep abreast of regulated security policies and procedures. Maintain the documentation necessary to validate compliance.
You will coordinate the installation, upkeep and operation of surveillance and access control systems between European locations and Westbrook, Maine.
You will coordinate the installation, upkeep and operation of other technologies including mass-notification, duty-of-care, and visitor management programs. Identify and recommend new technologies as appropriate.
You will be situated in the Netherlands, having a European scope and responsibility and reporting directly to the Facilities Operations Center Manager based in the US. This is not a work from home position – We will require the successful candidate to live or relocate to within 90 minutes from Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.
You will be a positively influence or lead work groups on topics like workplace violence, risk management and threat assessment, and Facilities Operations Center-driven initiatives.
You will visit IDEXX facilities across Europe as necessary to provide on-site assistance, assessments, training, or other Facilities Operations Center obligations when needed (Up to 25% travel as conditions permit/require).
Perform research, collect and mine data for analysis, conduct interviews in person and remotely, investigate incidents and draft associated reports, present on topics in person and virtually
What you will need to Succeed
The successful candidate for this position will be a flexible generalist with a strategic security background, including technical knowledge (access control, surveillance systems, internal communications systems). You are articulate, have effective communications across all mediums, possess emotional intelligence, humility and the ability to take and receive constructive feedback. Communication, especially written in English, will be one of their most easily recognized skillsets.

You possess strong intuition towards technology and software with an interest in learning new systems.

You are fluent in the English language; this is a must have.
You must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
You are able and willing to work holidays, overtime, and call-ins.
