Aqua-Spark is a global investment fund based in Utrecht, that makes investments in sustainable aquaculture businesses that generate investment returns, while creating positive social and environmental impact. The fund is building an ecosystem of small to medium sized enterprises across the global aquaculture value chain to make aquaculture more sustainable, healthier and more accessible for all. In this position… you contribute to the realization of HR objectives and organizational objectives by effectively and optimally supporting HR systems, efficient HR processes and timely and accurate personnel administration. Your primary responsibility will be to recruit new team members, the employment processes and assist with on- and off boarding processes. You offer support and answers on HR-related questions from the team members and are responsible for administrative tasks. You maintain contact with various (government) organizations such as the IND, UWV, payroll organisation office, etc… You work alongside the finance, legal, partnerships, development & IR team and investment team. You report to the HR Director.
Be actively involved in recruitment (f.e. by preparing vacancy texts, post vacant positions, recruiting canididates, (telephone)interviews, handling invitations and rejections, reference checks) and managing the employment process. Collaborating with department heads and stakeholders on the vacancies as necessary.
Actively involved in the on- and off boarding processes and orientating new employees;
Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format according to policy and legal requirements;
Operational HR administrative activities (preparing contracts, pension-, sickness and leave registration, updating HR data in HRM system, holiday accruals, ).
Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration, and maintaining contact with the external payroll provider;
Handling the process and applications regarding the hiring of expats (VISA, work permits, 30% facility for highly skilled migrants, etc..
Provide counseling and answers questions from the team member on HR policies and procedures;
Maintaining contact with various (government) organizations such as UWV, Occupational health & safety organisation, IND, Pension fund, Insurance company.
Supporting the HR Director with regard to HR business development and make solicited and unsolicited proposals with regard to HR related matters and policy and actively contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives, so that the HR activity calendar is achieved within timelines.( f.e. HR system, automation). Formulates concrete proposals to this end.
Preparing workforce reports and analysis: any standard or non-standard HR report needed internally or externally, or any ad-hoc business cases requested (f.e. leave, absenteeism, formation).
What do you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, BSc/Msc in Business Administration, social studies or relevant field, further training will be a plus
At least 3 years of broad HR working experience, f.e. as an HR Advisor, Business Partner in a similar role (background working within an international or multi-subsidiary is an advantage)
Knowledge and understanding of HR functions and processes (recruitment, pay& benefits, training, etc.), experience in payroll management preferred) and experience with HRM systems, databases.
Knowledge of Employment legislation, understanding of labor laws and up to date with the latest developments in Dutch labor legislation, experience with processing legal documentation/information , knowledge of data privacy (AVG/GDPR) and social security law.
Familiar with VISA applications and 30% tax approvals will be an advantage.
Additional training/certification in Payroll Management – may be advantageous.
Experience as a Skills Development Facilitator – may be advantageous.
Proficient with Apple, Microsoft Office (solid Excel skills), familiarity with databases; excellent IT/computer skills in general.
Experience with structuring and continuously improving the HR processes
Required personal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with people of all level. Knowledge of the Dutch language is required.
