American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a part-time (80%) maternity cover HR Officer.
Start date April until September 2021.

You are an experienced HR Officer with a minimum of 1 year working experience in HR in the Netherlands. You will have an advantage if you have working knowledge of AFAS Profit. Preferably you also have a working knowledge of Dutch Health and Safety legislation.
In addition you;
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in both English and Dutch),
are flexible: you can easily switch between tasks of varying degrees of complexity,
collaborate well with others and have excellent critical thinking skills,
have strong organizational skills and are capable of working on tight deadlines,
a customer friendly attitude and an eye for detail,
have strong technology skills that include familiarity with Google Suite (docs, forms, sheets, slides etc.), Excel or other spreadsheets.
The Role: You are part of the HR Team, consisting of 4 assistants/officers and the HR Manager. As HR Officer you provide staff and management with advice on employment matters. You are also responsible for the administration and preparation of files, contracts and benefits. Together, we enable the 270 staff members of our school to give our students the best possible learning experience.
The Work: As HR officer you will advise management and staff about all HR related topics such as policies, recruitment, salary, pension, staff appraisal, sickness and employment law.
In addition you;
are responsible for the onboarding of our new staff including all administrative and organizational tasks,
you will take care of the applications and follow-up on staff residence permits and work permits,
you will handle various administrative tasks and surveys as required,
other tasks as appropriate and assigned by the HR Manager.
