As a Style (Housekeeping) Manager you will be reporting to the Director of Rooms Division and will play a vital role in the success of the operation of W Amsterdam.
The Style Manager is responsible for the short and long term planning and the day-to-day operations of the Style Department, ensuring all guest rooms, public areas and heart of house are in perfect condition according to the W standards and the original Decor & Design. Style is an essential function within W Hotels and as such you will also play a vital role in bringing to life the W experience for our guests.
The ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience in managing a housekeeping department in a high end, lifestyle kind of environment. You are passionate about the W brand and are eager to be part of the team of this exciting project. You have a natural affinity to styling trends, and are always on the lookout for what's out there in terms of design and style. You remain 'in the know' at all times. You have an eye for detail and do not accept mediocre as a standard, you always strive for perfection. You have excellent people skills and have an upbeat, positive attitude to work and life. You are creative and always think of new ways of doing things, you embrace change. Fluency English is required for this role, other languages are appreciated.

Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets
Verifies guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
Inspects guestrooms on a daily basis.
Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
Inventories stock to verify adequate supplies.
Supports and supervises an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
Understands the impact of department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
Verifies all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
Communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to verify understanding.
Supervises daily Housekeeping shift operations and verifies compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures.
Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
Uses all available on the job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as necessary.
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and verifies employees do the same with them.
Schedules employees to business demands and for tracks employee time and attendance.

Verifies property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process, where applicable.

General Laundry - Knowledge of proper processing of various types of textiles, fabrics and colors, including techniques stain removal, dry cleaning, washing and drying of terry, F&B linens, and bed sheets. Linen quality control, to include discards, ragging, etc.
Environmental Sustainability – Knowledge of products and procedures that reduce, recycle or reuse natural resources such as bed linen and towel re-use programs.
Security/Loss Prevention - Knowledge of the procedures and techniques for property surveillance, property locks and keys, emergency situations, and legally defensible incident, accident, and injury investigations.
Public Safety - Knowledge of processes and procedures to ensure public health and safety in regards to Norovirus and Bloodborne pathogens and pest elimination (i.e. bed bugs, ants, etc.).
Preventative Maintenance - Knowledge of general cleaning programs and policies to extend the life of materials and areas. For example, knowledge of carpet, tile, and floor care including daily cleaning, heavy extraction, and interim cleaning.
Purchasing and Materials Management - Knowledge of practices and procedures needed to maintain material, equipment and supplies; including vendor identification and contract negotiation, supply requisition and purchasing, and inventory control.
At least 2 years of experience as Executive Housekeeper.
Valid work permit for The Netherlands
Languages: Fluent level of English is a must. Dutch is a preferred language, other languages are appreciated.
