    Head of Learning

    Job Title

    Head of Learning

    Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Reposition learning at Philips and redefining the function inside HR toward a learning capability for the entire company. The job will be hugely transformational, driving greater focus on impact, user experience and strategic portfolio management than ever before, with the aim of transforming the University into a leading wheel in the cog of capability building at Philips.

    You are responsible for

    • Defining learning strategy, and executing on this strategy, in support of company strategies.

    • Building the team with the capabilities to execute on that learning strategy.

    • Partnering cross-functionally to embed learning as a focus concept in our cultural shift, providing the insights and content expertise to accelerate that shift.

    • Managing the overall operations of Philips University, including budget accountability, design, development and delivery of learning interventions.

    • Amend our learning portfolio from ‘push to pull’ with a major focus on user experience, impact and strategic portfolio management.

    • Defining (in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues) the ‘way we build capabilities at Philips’, and act according to that new standard.

    • Ground breaking learning expertise to transform Philips University into a key capability enabling our company's transformations.

    • Being an active member of the Learning & Talent Innovation Leadership Team, collaborating across Learning, Talent and Leadership to accelerate our common ambition and our overall transformation as a company.

    You are a part of

The Learning & Talent Innovation Leadership Team, part of the HR function.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • A master’s degree, ideally complemented with a PhD or MBA.

    • 15-20 years of proven experience in a combination of corporate and consultancy environments. Having lived and/or worked and/or studied internationally, ideally on 2 continents.

    • Manage significant organizational change (rather than managing a large team and budget) and a demonstrable track record of igniting large scale transformations in a complex environment with a global remit.

    • Has led large, globally distributed teams over several layers in a multinational setting.

    • Grounded, visible and energizing with a passion and focus for innovative human resources services and solutions, crafted for and with the business and proven experience on delivery “under all circumstances”.

    • Excellent mentor to business leaders and HR teams and who easily builds trust at all levels in the organization.

    • Collaborative and inclusive leader, smooth operator with a good mix of operational, tactical and strategic capability, who gets things “done with other people” in a global matrix organisation.

    • Operationally excellent, with ability to lead the “engine room” of learning, as well as understanding the power of digital technology to continuously explore and upgrade for efficiency and effectiveness, with an ongoing focus on “moments that matter” throughout the employee's journey.

    • Familiarity with agile ways of working, and proven impact when it comes to driving learning for impact, user experience and strategic alignment with business goals

    In return, we offer you

To grow your career in a company with a unique purpose to make the world healthier and more sustainable through innovation. You can join an innovative health-tech company that values the interaction between technology and people, working in a multinational and multicultural environment. You will be surrounded by diverse colleagues who share your passion to create superior consumer experiences. Your work will be ambitious and full of opportunities for growth. Variety and challenge will be part of your daily routine.
