As Group Lead System Integration & Verification, you will be responsible that innovations that are designed by the Mother & Child Care (Philips Avent) R&D team – encompassing multiple sub-businesses such as Infant Feeding, Comforting, Breast Feeding Solutions – are released to the market at high quality throughout test & verification plan, execution and report. The role requires to align and coordinate the resources at the R&D site in Eindhoven, Philips factories and external laboratories globally distributed, to ensure solid execution of system level integration & verification activities and their completion in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, and ultimately build up a quality centric product development mindset in the organization.
We are looking for a thorough Test & Verification leader bringing solid experience in both consumer household and medical devices regulations and product development to the team - in order to inspire and grow it. If that resonates with you, we might have the challenge you are looking for!
You are responsible for
Leading a team of 10+ Test & Verification and System Engineering specialists to develop verification plan and specifications, perform verification test and complete verification reports (including coaching, recruitment, team - and competence development);
Developing competencies and implementing a holistic test & verification approach leveraging both Eindhoven laboratory and external ones, still maintaining end responsibility for the integral verification plan;
Work closely with System Architects and Quality & Regulatory to release high quality products;
Develop and implement a strategy of how good Test & Verification practices leading to best in class quality and efficiency should look like;
Maturing team competences regarding medical regulations and standards (such as FDA 820.x, IEC60601, IEC62304, ISO13485, ISO14971, AAMI TIR45);
Influencing the Reference Architecture for Mother & Childcare (think of modular design, allocation to software platforms, hybrid cloud solutions, harmonization of technology stacks as well as User Experience);
Ensuring that Laboratory equipment is regularly calibrated, safe and effective and in line with QMS procedures;
Being part of and teaming up with the Mother & Childcare R&D Management Team – as well as teaming up with Test & Verification Leaders of other businesses;
Acting as a business partner towards the Mother & Childcare category when it comes to support and projects in the Test & Verification domain;
Driving functional excellence including continuous improvement of the Test & Verification function as well as establishing and maintaining a thorough Quality management System.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of successful track record in a product development setting (engineering side);
Deep knowledge and experience in system engineering, system integration, developing testing instruments, test design and automation, verification strategy and design controls;
Experience in the medical device industry is required – as such, we are looking for sound understanding of medical regulations and standards (e.g. FDA 820.x, IEC60601, IEC62304, ISO13485, ISO14971, AAMI TIR45);
Design for Sig-Sigma and lean methodologies;
Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams where management through influence is required at all levels;
Technical understanding combined with people management skills and change management attitude.
