Group Corporate Development Manager

At BAM we will be soon delivering our new strategy. An important driver of BAM’s future success will be the alignment of its business portfolio to maximise value by making use of scale and knowledge. To achieve this we want to fully utilise business synergies by optimising our business portfolio. To achieve this we want to expand the team with another Corporate Development Manager. In this challenging role you will pro-actively manage the Corporate Development Program which is the main driver of our business portfolio optimisation.
The Royal BAM Strategy Team is a small, specialised group that advises our Executive Committee, senior business leadership and other corporate stakeholders on driving, assessing and prioritising our long-term company-wide strategic direction.
In this role, you will further shape our Stategy function of which the deliverables include:
Overall management of Corporate Development projects (Acquisitions, Divestments, Joint Ventures) from begin to end, including valuations, business case modelling, leading DD work streams, negotiations and deal execution.
Providing counsel to senior management on the identification of opportunities to optimise the business portfolio.
Driving transactions to a successful close enabling us to achieve our long-term mission.
Gathering strategic/business intelligence in BAM’s home markets and proactively seeking deal sourcing opportunities.
Preparing and developing board materials and presentations to counsel the Royal BAM Executive Committee and Supervisory Board and demonstrate the impact of decisions.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a self-starter with a pragmatic approach and an excellent understanding of the wider stakeholder landscape. With a disciplined, well-structured way of working you understand financials and the main legalities of a deal whilst being sensitive to interests of stakeholders to conclude deals.
Key experience and qualifications
A Bachelor/Master degree in Business Administration or similar.
Proven experience in a similar position (e.g. M&A / corporate finance, private equity, or corporate business development)
Practical experience from past M&A transactions including negotiations and deal execution.
Proven project management and analytical skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong business acumen with good judgement and the desire to succeed in a demanding environment, bringing proactiveness, drive and can-do attitude.
Stakeholder management skills to connect with all levels of the organisation whilst having the ability to work independently and in small teams.
Convincing oral and written communication skills with an excellent command of all aspects of the English language. Dutch is an asset.
With a results- and solution-oriented approach you are comfortable working under demanding deadlines and producing senior-executive deliverables.
