Global Business Analyst - Payments
This role provides a unique opportunity to join the fast-growing, highly strategic Payments department at Booking.com
The role of Payments Business Analyst is critical to support Payments in setting and reaching its strategic objectives, and will have direct exposure to the Payments leadership team.
The role consists in driving business processes to support optimal decision-making, ensure goal achievement and track progress, in Payments and across Payments stakeholders. The analyst will also work on high-impact, challenging and cross-functional projects, with direct exposure to payments leadership team.
In particular, the Payments Business Analyst acts as a support for the yearly planning cycle (strategy-setting, annual planning & budgeting, tracking execution as part of the business review cadence, …). The analyst also supports/leads projects as required (strategy, HR, …). Last, the analyst helps to improve business operations in Payments.
Lead elements of the annual / quarterly planning process
Support the identification & alignment on key dependencies between Payments and other departments
Provide link between the strategic planning exercise and budgeting exercise
Deliver output materials for business reviews, board updates, weekly updates, …
Support/lead projects (strategy, HR, …)
Support strategy-setting, eg. through business or financial analyses
Support HR projects as needed, eg. organizational design, coordination with recruitment on needs & priorities
Communicate recommendations supported by a compelling storyline to key stakeholders to ensure impact and build consensus
Improve business operations in Payments
Evaluate the performance of current business operations and recommend strategies and tactics to achieve business goals
Document institutional knowledge and best practices of the organization
3+ years experience in a similar role
Expertise in payments, travel or e-commerce is highly desirable
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
Skilled in strategy development, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, consensus building, and implementation
Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
Able to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Good knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to take ownership, entrepreneurial, proactive with a positive attitude, a self-starter
Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus.
