Mollie is building a brand new Product team to increase website conversion and be a key growth engine for the entire marketing and sales teams. With full support from the Founder and the Management Team, conversion is a high priority for the business and you’ll be working on cutting-edge improvements that will make a big difference to Mollie’s performance. Unlike other teams, the website team will not commit to a quarterly roadmap, but will be agile and evolve the plan based on the success or failures of tests. This allows for a high degree of autonomy for the team as a whole and for the individual members.
As a full stack engineer, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team to scope, prioritise, test and implement changes to the website that will increase conversion. The team consists of a Product Owner, Designer and Frontend Engineer, with scope to ramp the team up further in 2021 based on the early successes. Engineers are amazing problem solvers so your talents will be used well before a Jira ticket is written to collect and analyse data and interview internal and external stakeholders. You will not be given Jira tickets and told to do them, but play a pivotal role in setting the direction for the team and prioritizing what work needs to be done.
The team has the advantage of sitting in the cross-section between Marketing, Sales and Product Engineering; being able to leverage the skills of those teams. Our public website is written in React (Next.js), has a Node.js backend and is hosted in the Google Cloud. As we expect the team to operate independently, having experience with GCP (Kubernetes) is a big advantage..
What you'll be doing
Scoping new ideas for tests Analysing traffic performance, reviewing feedback from internal teams, interviewing merchants.. to understand their pain points and therefore what changes are needed to the funnel to address them.
Developing new A/B tests Working alongside the Product Owner, Designer and Frontend Engineer, to implement new features.
Analysing performance of existing tests What worked and what didn’t, and how does that inform our next steps?
Make sure the website keeps running smoothly We are constantly improving our systems and need to make sure everything works as expected while the number of visitors increases every day. You will be adding metrics to the marketing website, set up alerting based on these metrics and come up with improvements to make our set up even more scalable.
