F&R Finance Analyst

Unilever’s Foods and Refreshment (F&R) business unit represents 40%+ of the Unilever business. F&R has an exciting portfolio consisting of both global brands and local jewels. This portfolio benefits from a growing footprint in D&E and an established consumer base in developed markets.
Within Unilever, the divisional teams own the strategy and drive key portfolio and investment choices to drive long term success of the division. Consumer habits are evolving rapidly as new trends, health benefit, lifestyle choices influence our consumption. For F&R, continuing to develop in emerging markets is critical, as is shifting our portfolio towards emerging habits and trends. Future development in Route-to-Market, white space opportunities, customization, and innovations that speak to health, organics, and responsible sourcing are all essential and finance will play a pivotal role in this shift.
The role of the Finance Analyst for Foods & Refreshment will be help steer the strategy for the division and be a catalyst to driving course corrections where needed. The role will work closely with country and category teams to steer delivery while creating long term value for shareholders. The role allows the right candidate to build good strategic understanding of business while providing exposure to senior stakeholders.
The role provides a great opportunity to showcase your skills to the Unilever finance team, gaining experience in a large global multi-cultural team with multiple cross functional interactions. It will provide you with a platform to enhance your finance business partnering skills and develop a strong analytical and strategic skill set. The role also provides a stepping stone to an exciting career in Unilever.
MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The role is based in Rotterdam and reports to the Senior Performance Manager Foods & Refreshment. The key objective for this role will be to own the overall performance management process, lead strategic insights for leadership and drive the target setting for F&R. In addition, this role will help drive the delivery of key initiatives on cost efficiencies across F&R.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
Driving target setting process for division, categories and countries in line with strategy
Leading the Strategic planning exercise to help define key business priorities and investment choices.
Own Monthly Performance Management input to the Foods & Refreshment Leadership team including insights and key interventions
Coordinating with business units/categories to understand performance and highlight actions to bridge gaps to target
Perform strategic deepdives and analysis to understand short and long term challenges and opportunities.
Ownership of data, reports and platforms for global F&R reporting. Work with relevant teams to improve reporting quality.
Support the Performance Director on key initiatives.
Drive key divisional agendas focused on cost efficiencies and profitability
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor or Master degree in Finance (or finance related subject), with additional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA
3+ years’ experience in managing financial performance in a FMCG or similar industry
Understanding of business operations and interlink between various functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, R&D etc.)
Strong Excel modelling and powerpoint skills; Experience in PowerBI, SAP would be a plus
Proven ability to absorb and evaluate financial and technical information within tight timeframes to ensure timely support to support stakeholders
Experience in working in a multinational organisation is a plus.
Confident, experienced and skilled to work with senior management
Independent self-starter, effective problem solver and decision maker, expressing ideas clearly and gaining support without formal chain of command, outstanding planning and organizational skills.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
