    Finance Associate - Payments

    About the Role/Team

    Uber Payments BV (UPBV) is Uber's payments subsidiary in the EU, processing all of Uber's payments in the EU (EEA) under a licence from the Dutch Central Bank. UPBV is building up for the next level of growth across Europe

    The Finance Associate is part of the finance team at UPBV, which consists of three people, an Associate, a Senior Associate and the Finance Lead. Reporting to the Finance Lead the Associate will provide key support to the Finance Function by performing essential monitoring and reconciliation work. As this is a small team you will have an opportunity to influence the team and take on additional responsibilities!

    What You'll Do

    • Take ownership of the "Payments Dashboard" ensuring that the data within the dashboard is being updated and reconciling the outputs to various data sources.
    • Preparing multiple reconciliations e.g., bank, partner payables and intercompany.
    • Supporting the month end close process.
    • Monitoring the delivery of tasks within the Finance Service Level Schedules with Uber, ensuring that tasks are being delivered at the right quality and on time.
    • Maintaining and supervising key finance controls, ensuring that they are being performed and being evidenced.
    • Creating purchase requests and purchase orders
    • Setting up new vendors
    • Monitoring and getting invoices approved

    Basic Qualifications

    • Qualified or soon to be qualified CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred
    • Strong overall understanding of accounting and accounting related processes
    • 3+ years of experience at a junior to level finance role
    • Proactive, able to focus on what really matters and committed to getting the job done
    • The ability to handle large volumes of data, create pivot tables to assess the quality of the data and draw conclusions
    • A good eye for detail, with the ability to drill down when necessary whilst maintaining a helicopter view
    • Strong risk appetite, ability to understand processes and controls
    • A collaborative teammate, who enjoys working cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
    • Good interpersonal skills to communicate key information and status to internal partners
    • Comfortable in managing through ambiguous situations, works well independently or within a group
    • Flexible and adaptable working style and attitude
    • Proficient excel skills is a prerequisite
    • Bonus points for experience in regulated financial services or payments, SQL querying.
