Execution Systems is a dedicated team responsible for implementing, maintaining and improving automated systems for the Leiden production facility in compliance with cG(a)MP requirements.
The Execution Systems Base Business sub-team consist of approximately 12 skilled Automation Engineers with various technical expertises. Their core responsibility is maintaining and improving our process- and building- automation systems. As formal Technical System Owner of our automation platforms, we feel the responsibility in crafting and leading the technical and strategical plans for our systems, making sure we are delivering current production needs and will be doing so in the future in a constantly evolving environment. This also includes the area of Data Integrity and Cyber Security. We are constantly operating on the line between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT).
Do you have a broad experience in Industrial Automation - and maybe also building-automation systems too and most terms like (PLC, DCS ”DeltaV”, SCADA/PIMS, BAS “Priva”, BAS “Honeywell) are known and are already part of your working life for many years, then you also understand the needed IT part in this. Are you looking towards in working cross-system area’s like Data Integrity, Cyber Security, IT/OT integration and you have a keen eye for organizational processes and constantly looking for process improvements? Day to Day Responsibilities
Support and maintain of Process/building Automation platforms such as, DeltaV (DCS), Siemens S7, Tia Portal (PLC), Priva TC, Honeywell (BAS), ArchestrA (SCADA), OsiSoft (PIMS) and GxP infrastructure
Acts in a troubleshooting role to find root cause and propose a solution (potentially 24/7 on-call support required).
As Technical System Owner of one or two platforms you craft and lead technical and strategical plans, including version upgrades, patching, continuous improvement and replacement projects.
Lead and supervise one or more modifications and/or projects and ensure that the user requirement specifications, planning and all applicable objectives are met with no impact on product quality and production schedule.
Lead vendors, subcontractors and technical integrators.
Act as Single Point of Contact on Data Integrity and Cyber Security for the local and global organization. You represent the Leiden site in cross-site/cross-sector global teams.
A technical education or degree in industrial control, information technology or relevant engineering sector is required, at Bachelor level or higher.
Experience in a GxP supervised environment with a minimum of 4-6 years. Knowledge of current Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).
Experience in biotechnological/pharmaceutical industry is preferable
Deeper and experienced knowledge in at least two or maybe even more of the following: DeltaV, Siemens S7/ Tia Portal, Priva TC, Honeywell EMS, ArchestrA, OsiSoft , IT/OT integration, Cyber Security, Data Integrity

Process Automation oversight and insights, and always looking for the organizational process behind the events.
Ability to understand relationships and different interests in a sophisticated organization.
Strong communication and comfortable in communicating in all layers of the organization (from operators to higher management) and in cross-site / cross-sector international teams.
Ability to build a path forward even if the solution is not yet clear or there is no standard process.
