booking.com or food by Thuisbezorgd.
PickThisUp was founded 4 years ago and we have the ambition to become the biggest delivery service in
the world without vehicles.
HOW: About PickThisUp
Daily, thousands of purchases from webshops, Marktplaats and (BVA) auction sites must be picked up by
yourself because it doesn't fit in a package (washing machine, bicycle, furniture, painting etc). In
addition, the roads are full with couriers who drive half empty, are expensive and a lot of hassle to find a
good one. When one of the founders needed to pick up his own Marktplaats purchase (set of car tires)
in 2014, he wondered if one of the 8 million empty vehicles in the Netherlands couldn’t have helped
him.
That was the start of PickThisUp; Delivering Anything, Anytime! PickThisUp helps consumers and
webshops with the best delviery solution. By connecting them with our network of +1.500 consumers &
(ZZP) couriers who are already on the road. So they can make some extra money and you get the best
delivery price.
After the founders burned there personal savings in 2015, PicKTHisUp closed a successful crowdfunding
campaign and angel investment in 2016. In 2017 we were selected by Startupbootcamp out of 350
companies for the E-commerce accelerator program. And we recently welcomed a new investor who is
the ex owner of a large transport company. Due to new partnerships with companies as Marktplaats,
BVA-Auctions and others, the company has grown 400% in 2019 and are now looking for a lead Ux/Ui
developer who want to be part of our rollercoaster with the opportunity to become cofounder.
WHAT: Profile
Our team works agile and uses the SCRUM methodology in sprints of 1 week. So sprint plans, stand up
sessions and retrospectives will be part of your day. In your daily work, you’ll be responsible for:
Translate customer problems from our support team into solutions
Design user flows and optimizing the customer journey of our Ruby on Rails / javascript platform
Being the lead developer in helping to develop an app based on our current web application.
Overall we are looking for someone with passion for entrepreneurship, javascript/html/CSS skills and a
"good grasp” of User Experience focused design
