You’ll be leading the Product Accessibility team. We define, design, and build accessibility into the user interface building blocks for all of Booking’s digital products. We consider each aspect of human interaction — including every visual, audible, and haptic experience — to create products that are not only beautiful, but also intuitive and useful for all our customers.
This is a unique opportunity for an Engineering Manager who will stand at the intersection of technology, user experience, and inclusivity. This role manages, coaches and develops an engineering-focused team. You will manage all activities to define, design, and implement new accessibility features for our design system and digital products, ensuring that deliverables are on time and with acceptable quality. The role will confer with leaders, product owners, and key stakeholders to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, scalability and time-to-market for the digital accessibility features and components that help Booking meet our compliance goals and reach our inclusivity aspirations.

7+ years of experience in software development as a developer excluding internship
At least 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced and complex environment
Experience with and knowledge of WCAG 2.x accessibility guidelines and compliance requirements
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of developing and shipping software
You have strong technical skills (Coding & System design), you can get hands-on with your team if needed
Experience with customer-facing product application (web and/or apps), reusable UX components using ReactJS and understanding of architectural nuances
You are a humble and thought technology leader, you lead by example and gain your teammates respect through your actions and not your title
You have a ‘can do’ attitude and you act proactively and not reactively
Strong people management skills and experience with the ability to deal with complex people issues
Strong stakeholder management experience, strong business and technical vision
Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
Solution oriented and result driven, analytical skills and data-driven mindset

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent
