    Engineering Manager - Machine Learning

At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, and lines of code. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place, the excitement of the next morning, the friends you make, the journeys you take, the sights you see, and the food you sample. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.

Our Machine Learning Platform is behind what makes Booking able to deliver personal experiences and you will be in a unique position to support multiple areas of the business as they used ML to tackle some of the hardest problems that we face, from detecting fraud to recommending which properties you should check for your next stay.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong hands-on Engineering Manager. This role is primarily to manage, coach and develop an engineering team, ensuring the development of both the individual and team as a whole are in line with organizational objectives and direction. You should be a technically strong role model to help your team advance and develop. The role will require analyzing technology and human talent needs, together with market demand. In addition to this, you will have to collaborate and work closely with other leaders, key stakeholders and Machine Learning teams to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and scalability for new and existing products.

The team that you will manage is at the core of what a Machine Learning Platform enables: providing the ability to build Machine Learning models. You will be in charge of giving our ML Practitioners the tools they need to build models for a variety of purposes, using multiple sources of data both while exploring new techniques and productionizing those that prove worthy in a reproducible way so that they continue to update over time.
