    Engineering Manager - Accommodations - Booking Home (Guest Experience)

    About this position

    Vacation rentals are at the heart of our strategy. There is a higher demand for entire places to stay, like Homes and apartments. As an Engineering Manager in the Booking Home Guest Experience teams, you will enable the teams to deliver a great experience for our customers and partners. From working with Content challenges that will enable the guests to make informed decisions, to working on Booking’s own quality rating system that not only enables our customers to find a place that matches their needs and expectations, but also drives our partners to provide an amazing stay for their guests.

    B.Responsible

    • Manage 5-6 developers (front-end & back-end)
    • Coach & mentor them, growing their seniority
    • Lead technical implementation of the product (solution architecture)
    • Drive delivery of the product & its operational excellence
    • Advocate for engineering excellence & processes
    • Manage technical stakeholders in integrating solutions
    • Work closely with Product Managers to steer both teams (via roadmaps)

    B.Skilled

    • 5+ years of experience as a developer, with experience on Java or NodeJS, containers, GraphQL, data streams, AWS. Javascript and React experience is a plus
    • At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong people management skills and experience with the ability to deal with complex people issues
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent
    • Strong business and technical vision
    • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of developing and shipping software
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
    • Solution oriented and result driven
    • Proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Analytical skills and data-driven mindset
    • Ability to work with multiple Product managers and backlogs
