    Energy Sector - Global Lead Energy Project Advisory

    Your role and work environment

    As the Global Lead for Energy Project Advisory (EPA) you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities of the business and for the origination and execution of project advisory assignments in the Energy sector, working in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders to maximise the overall benefits to the Bank:

    • You will drive origination, deepen client relationships, and support deal teams in flawless execution
    • You will define and execute the global strategy for EPA and develop a long term sustainable deal flow across all the Energy sub-sectors
    • As a member of the Energy Management Team you will work closely with the sub-sector Global Leads to maximize the commercial momentum in their different sub sector teams and optimize resource allocation
    • You will be responsible for commercial alignment and drive commercial prioritization on behalf of the Energy Sector for projects like Symphony, Falcon and other bank-wide initiatives to strengthen cooperation
    • You will be accountable for maximising fee income and capturing cross-buy at an early stage in close cooperation and consultation with Strategic Products and Financial Markets
    • You will be responsible for knowledge sharing in relation to project advisory for the Energy sector globally, especially in relation to the Energy Transition and the New Energy Technology Initiative
    • You will preferably be based in Amsterdam and be expected to travel as required to support the execution of the EPA strategy

    Your key responsibilities

    • Management and coordination of the global EPA resources and deal teams engaged on EPA assignments. Regional Leads EPA functionally report into the Global Lead EPA
    • Responsible for the origination and execution of advisory assignments in accordance with established procedures and standards (including Compliance and managing conflicts of interest)
    • Commercial performance:
      • Accountable for revenues, direct costs
      • Increasing cross-buy and fee income
    • Actively share knowledge across countries/regions/sub-sectors/Financial Markets/Strategic Products (client needs, commercial achievements, market trends and developments)
    • People perspective
      • Actively manage EPA headcount, including assessment of recruitment and training needs
      • Develop talents within the team and promote a customer-centric culture within the team
      • Sponsor diversity and create a ‘can-do’ atmosphere
    • Represent EPA internally as well as externally

    We are looking for:

    Required experience:

    • International Wholesale Banking background with extensive experience in working and living outside of your home country
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the needs and strategic issues relevant to companies active across the entire energy value chain globally.
    • Successful commercial track record in growing mature businesses as well as establishing greenfield operations in the Energy sector
    • Extensive (matrix) leadership experience
    • Proven effectiveness with working in cross-cultural settings
    • Hands-on experience with value-add advisory assignments
