    Job and Position Context

    Thermo Fisher Scientific Groningen operates as a Custom Manufacturing Organization for small to large Pharma customers. Thermo Fisher Scientific exclusively focuses on production of antibodies and other active pharma proteins using mammalian cell lines. Customers are typically companies with a product in the clinical stage of development. This requires a short time to the clinic, i.e. a short but effective development of their process, followed by timely transfer to Operations and batch production under cGMP.

    EH&S activities range from developing and presenting safety awareness and training programs in the areas of personnel safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health and fire protection, to oversee compliance with timely completion of corrective action items in the (non-Quality) collective action tracking database. Due to the diversity of customers, and their associated products, the applicable activities are very diverse.

    Scientific: The job holder is responsible for the quality and quantity of the environment, surrounding, and conditions of the site to allow for the manufacturing processes to be executed appropriately. (S)He has a responsibility for adequate availability of personnel, for adequate availability and condition of the site, systems & support, with the purpose to allow proper execution of manufacturing. The job holder should have significant technical knowledge and expertise in the field of EH&S.

    Organization: The job holder is responsible for leading the departments and needs excellent leadership and coaching skills to achieve the overall department result.
