    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5+ years of proven editing and writing experience focused on business and/or economics in a high-quality journalism, corporate or think-tank environment
    • Broad knowledge of current events and trends in economics, business, policy and technology; familiarity with the media landscape; global outlook
    • Familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel
    • Excellent and versatile writing skills
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and solve problems creatively; flexibility and enthusiastic can-do attitude

    Who You'll Work With

    You will be based in Amsterdam or one of our offices in North America as part of a small global editorial team within McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), the business and economics research arm of McKinsey & Company.
    You will work closely with MGI partners (many of whom are economists) and rotational research teams made up of McKinsey consultants. You will also collaborate with MGI’s digital editor to create video scripts, web content and social media assets. You will also work with our external communications teams to produce press and outreach materials.

    What You'll Do

    You will help turn quantitative research findings on business, economic, demographic and technology trends into compelling thought leadership content.
    In this role, you will manage each project through outlining, drafting, revising, approvals, production and launch. Much of your job will involve drafting and editing long-form research reports. You will also work with research teams to build storylines, sharpen messages and turn quantitative analysis into crisp, digestible writing. One of your key tasks will be incorporating and balancing ideas and feedback from multiple contributors. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of our research while capturing the right tone and voice as well as adhering to quality, risk and style guidelines.
    You will also produce short articles for both McKinsey outlets and external publications. You will ensure that charts, visuals and presentations are clear, accurate and engaging. You will also make suggestions and come up with concepts that will be used by our design teams.
