    Disctrict Facility Manager

    You have worked in a multiple building management structure (Facility Management or Workplace Management), preferably in a high-volume consumer commercial sector, and you have held a position of responsibility. You have proven skills in the areas of development and support, coaching, training and career guidance for people. You also communicate with confidence and clarity in English and the local language, both verbally and in written. You preferably have a university degree/professional qualification in the field of building management (or equivalent). To succeed in this position, you must have proven experience in project management (preferably PPS methodology) and change management. Finally, you have proven experience in the field of sustainable development and the environment. A good knowledge of the IKEA culture and a good understanding of maintenance and general services are a plus.

    You have knowledge in the following areas:
    • Budget management
    • Business risk management
    - Project & change management - Asset management
    - Sustainable development connected to Facility Management (FM) - FM business processes (workorder management, supplier management, …) - Useful IT tools for Maintenance and General Services (FMIS, CAFM, …) - Know the country's FM market & standards for "hard" and "soft" FM services, as well as Ingka’s international FM standards, regulations and manuals - FM guidelines and working methods; know which services are included in the scope of Ingka's FM department (technical maintenance, logistic equipment, food equipment, safety and security equipment, cleaning, waste management, pest control, landscaping, snow removal, energy&water management…) and understand the FM service delivery model, as well as the FM position within the Ingka business, are a plus
    • Technical aspects of buildings and equipment, and more specific technical aspects of an Ingka Group building and related equipment

    You are autonomous and demonstrate excellent leadership skills, as evidenced by your results, and explore all options to achieve a result that is acceptable to all parties. You provide advice and guidance to maximize the effectiveness of individuals and/or groups. You can establish and maintain a system of strategic business relationships (networking). You know how to use your business knowledge and digital best practices to achieve the organization's objectives, and you know how to define short-term objectives and the measures to be taken to achieve them.


    The main objective of this position is to lead people and the FM activities in a specific district in order to optimize the value and efficiency of each property in a sustainable way, in accordance with Ingka Real Estate orientations.

    Your role will be to:
    - conduct and manage FM services within the district through leading a team of site FM managers - to allow and ensure the best exploitation of the business;
    • ensure the proper management of each asset throughout its life cycle. This includes safety, compliance, maintenance and improvement to ensure a safe and operational environment for the business, employees, customers and other stakeholders;
    • implement relevant innovations in real estate management and implement digital and technical solutions that meet the needs of the business and the greatest number of people;
    • be responsible for ensuring that each property is kept safe and in perfect condition according to the needs of the business;
    • to sustainably optimize the efficiency of each property;
    • ensure that suppliers and other external partners, as required, are always aware of and understand the rules, guidelines and initiatives, as well as their updates;
    • ensure that forecasts, monitoring, budget, 5-year rolling plan, etc. are provided by all sites;
    • support and implement the contract and supplier management structure with Ingka's purchasing organization to improve efficiency, costs, equipment and quality;
    • manage and develop the team's skills, performance and resource management;
    • create an environment where IKEA culture is a living and strong reality that values the diversity of customers and employees;

    Without us it would be difficult to meet our customers in person. In our Cluster Real Estate team we find, develop and manage IKEA properties around the whole world. We’re different from one another but we are all passionate about real estate and have a heart for the business owner. We challenge and inspire each other to always stay close to IKEA customers and to understand how the changes within the business (retail, distribution, offices, …) affects our needs of real estate.
