We are Settly!
We are a value and purpose driven HR startup on a mission to redefine the relocation experience for the new generation. We believe everyone deserves to feel at home, no matter where you come from, what you earn or how long you’re staying.
Diversity & Inclusion is our DNA and the foundation of what we do and why. In our first year of operation we were named one of the top 200 inspiring diverse start-ups by Techleap and we are proud of our wide variety of different nationalities and backgrounds.
Unlike most startups we are self-funded (aka bootstrapped) which means no external investors. Why? Because we strongly stand behind our values, we want our employees to grow with us and keep the client experience at the center of everything we do.
We are now ready to accelerate our growth to the next level and are looking for our first employee in the UK to help set-up our business and manage our current client base.
Our core values
Stay humble - We practice what we preach and walk the talk (no time for politics)
We are passionate - We love what we and we do what we love
Doing the right thing - Act fair and with integrity. In particular when nobody is watching
Always be improving - Embrace change, innovate, take risks and continuously encourage yourself and those around you to grow and develop
How we work
We work fast, learn fast, and build fast. Life at Settly moves forward in one dynamic motion. We're a team that focuses on making an impact right from day one. We are creators, pragmatists and dreamers. Risk takers. Roll-up-your-sleeves-and-make-it-happen kind of people. We thrive on transparency, cooperation and we value solution-minded attitudes.
We are all driven by one ethos: Make an impact now. Get the most out of every moment by maximising your impact and going above and beyond for the ultimate client experience. We love shaping things together and leveraging different perspectives, because that makes our products better. Our team is empowered with freedom and opportunity; in return, we expect passion, pro-activity, ownership, and agility.
About the role
We’re looking for someone to take a high-level helicopter view to drive the strategy for targeted customer acquisition and retention, then zoom in to personally execute those recommendations.
As our first marketing hire on a lean team, you’ll have the opportunity to build the marketing department from the ground up. While we have designers and specialists who can assist your efforts in some cases, and the invaluable input and camaraderie of our broader team, this role does not (yet) have direct reports and won’t have a dedicated team. You’ll be expected to identify what you need, why you need it, and to find the most collaborative way to get it done.
This includes utilising existing internal resources and/or working with external consultants and specialists to help bring your vision to life.
We’re not expecting a unicorn, but we absolutely believe the right candidate can take ownership, roll up their (metaphorical or literal) sleeves, and execute end-to-end. We believe the right marketeer can level up what we’ve built, create fresh approaches, collaborate across multiple levels, manage the process, iterate, and continually improve how we serve our customers and grow.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be strategic, accountable and ambitious. Your ability to manage and measure the audience and customer acquisition funnel is vital.
What you will do
Help develop the marketing strategy to achieve main goals: Lead generation, conversion and brand awareness;
Own content creation for marketing, including copywriting emails, social media content, event pages, product pages, and other marketing materials.
Work with both in-house and external design/production members to develop marketing assets for across channels.
Own, plan, and execute online and in-person events, from marketing and registration to implementation, day-of management and follow-up/aftersales.
Determine and implement optimal CRM, social media, and MarTech stack, building on our current platforms (Mailerlite, Hubspot, Canva and Later).
Create and manage a social and marketing content calendar for both company and founders;
Support business development and sales activities by creating support tools, manage communication in lead cycle;
Monitor, analyse, report to leadership and optimise marketing efforts on ongoing basis;
Own, plan, and execute integrated campaigns for events, products and other content (live sessions, livestream sessions, podcasts and online webinars).
You’re resourceful and find a way to get things done. You have a logical mind, a business brain, and an eye for good design.
You have bold ideas, and the skills to gather what you need to execute a realistic minimum viable project.
You’ve taken a little and turned it into a lot, and you enjoy the thrill of executing your craft. You’re a starter who stays strong all the way to the finish.
You’ll be a front runner of marketing, landing into unknown territory to quickly assess the situation and determine the best course of action. You have experience working across a wide variety of marketing channels including content, funnels, lifecycle marketing, and digital within a startup environment with limited resources.
You’ll need to learn about what we've built, but we’re also looking for someone to surface what we don’t know we don’t know. Important: you’ll work closely with cross-functional peers to get what you need laterally. This means you’ll lead without formal authority in a flat organisation.
What you'll need to have
Min 3 years digital marketing experience
Digital mindset and experience with driving SEO, SEA and online platforms
Entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen and a continuous desire to improve
Data and process driven and eager to solve problems
Team player and a self starter; you get things done but can also support strategically
Excellent communicator in English, both verbal and in writing
Ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels
Eager to learn, always looking to push yourself and the company to the next level
Great people skills, natural drive to help, develop and empower others
Preferable (not a must)
Personal experience of living and/or working overseas
Experience with an early stage start-up
What's in it for you?
Work with a talented, high-performance & value driven team
Once in a lifetime opportunity to help shape and grow a new HR startup
Make a meaningful impact to the lives of others who will be grateful forever
