Debt Capital Markets – Investment Grade Corporates Internship

Title: Debt Capital Markets – Investment Grade Corporates Internship

Duration: 6 months or longer, starting mid-January/February, 2021:

Application period: We will be reviewing applications between November and mid-December. We will not accept applications submitted after 17:00 CET on December 13th, 2020.

    Description Department/Team

The Debt Capital Markets Investment Grade Corporates team in Amsterdam acts as an advisory boutique and is specifically geared towards offering tailor-made solutions for the issuance of bond in various currencies, hybrid capital issuance, liability management exercises and new business propositions such as green, social and sustainable bonds. In this process we guide ING’s corporate client base on how to get the best deal from the market. We advise our clients on issuance timing, expected future spread / rate movements, optimal bond structure, execution strategies and pricing tactics. Our team covers a wide set corporates across the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while also supporting ING’s global Debt Capital Markets franchise.

    Role Description
Provide direct support to senior colleagues with the aim to structure new bond mandates, support DCM bond execution, take an active role in pitch preparation, coordinate and prepare market and pricing updates with Debt Capital Markets Syndicate and prepare tailor-made advices to prospect bond issuers. As our new colleague will be joining a small, highly skilled team, he/she will be guided and trained extensively and, as such, will be seen as a full member of the team.

    Description of the Work Setting
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the internship will be predominantly virtual with remote working (you will be working from home). Should COVID-19 imposed working conditions/guidelines allow, according to ING policies and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), you will have the chance to work from ING’s HQ in Amsterdam Bijlmer.

Teamwork is a very important aspect of our day-to-day work flow. Plus given the remote working setting, our new colleague will need to be a good communicator with the ability to establish a good rapport with the team while working independently. Given the high volume nature of our job, our new colleague will be constantly challenged to form an independent thought process and manage workflow in a short turnaround time. Next to this, our new colleague should be able to assume a certain dose of responsibility when addressing operational deliverables.
