    ING Corporate Compliance is looking to hire a Junior/Medior Compliance Data Protection Risk Manager.

    As a Junior/Medior Compliance Data Protection Risk Manager your purpose is to deal with the compliance risks for ING in relation to (Personal) Data Protection / Data Privacy.

    The Data Protection team will consist of 3 FTE.

    What you'll do

    As a Junior/Medior Compliance Data Protection Risk Manager

    • You perform compliance risk management activities on corporate level in the area of data protection, including support to the global compliance function;
    • You support the identification, documenting and assess the compliance risks associated with data protection from a corporate compliance perspective;
    • You support the design and the usage of compliance risk management methods, instruments, tooling and templates to identify, assess and report in relation to data protection (including data privacy, data retention & deletion, data ethics);
    • You support collaboration and knowledge sharing within global compliance and other relevant stakeholders, by organizing periodic meetings and communications to the global compliance function on the instructions, status and requirements in relation to data privacy risks;
    • You interact and close co-operate with compliance officers in the Business Lines and Business Units (in virtual teams), Data Protection Officers, Legal, Non-Financial Risk officers and IT risk officers;
    • You monitor and report on the proper operating effectiveness and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, as well as the effectiveness of controls and reporting the results on the areas of data protection globally.

    Your work environment

    • The Data Protection team is part of the Corporate Functions Compliance (CFC) department part of Corporate Compliance (based in Amsterdam) (2nd LoD);
    • You are operating in a complex and international environment;
    • The Data Protection team is working together based on knowledge and expertise, as well as the skill set needed to best perform the job;
    • The team is working with key internal stakeholders and offers an environment which provides a global overview on how the relevant Data Protection requirements and controls are embedded within the business, and provides an opportunity to manage relationships with external stakeholders, regulators and supervisory institutions.

    How to succeed

    • You have a passion for Privacy, Data Ethics & Integrity and Risk management;
    • You have 2+ years’ experience in compliance, operational or IT risk management or experience that is relevant for this position;
    • You understand the context of Data Privacy risks; e.g. relevant legislation and regulations, trends and industry developments or capable to learn this with short period of time;
    • You are a team player with a flexible attitude;
    • You can work independent and are able to build effective working relationships;
    • You have an academic degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience;
    • You have an excellent level of English (verbal/written).
