    Cyber Security Analyst

    Job Description

    The role

    We are on a digitalisation journey to improve our information and cyber security posture. To support that journey, we need a Cyber Security Analyst to join our global Security Operations Team based in either the UK or the Netherlands. Your role will be to protect Fugro by employing a range of processes to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats. Reporting to the Operations Centre Team lead, you will be responsible for ensuring any possible security threats or areas of weakness are identified quickly, that risks are evaluated, and threats are acted up appropriately.

    Who you’ll be working with:

    You will work with colleagues from various departments across the globe, including IT, Information Security, Cyber Security, Network Operations, Cloud Services as well as the Global Infrastructure and Security Manager.

    Here’s what a typical day would be like:

    • Utilizing 3rd party Intelligence feeds to enrich logs and lower threats.
    • Monitoring and responding to incoming support requests from internal end-users, such as questions regarding phishing emails and associated activity.
    • Monitoring system and event logs in Qradar SIEM.
    • Analysing, escalating and responding to security events, observables and incidents detected by internal security tools.
    • Utilising SOAR system to build playbooks and automation for timely resolution of incidents.
    • Acting as trusted party during investigation of security incidents or personal data security breach.
    • Identifying flaws and measuring effectiveness of existing security controls.

    Who we’re looking for:


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Cyber Security, or relevant professional experience.
    • Previous experience in Project Management or Cyber Security
    • Experience in IS/IT Risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability.
    • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security.
    • Good stakeholder engagement skills and a healthy degree of business acumen and interest.


    • Information Security certifications, such as Security+, SSCP or CEH are viewed as beneficial.
