Customs and Trade Manager ECAM

We are currently looking for a Colleague with the right skillset to set up the Customs Centre of Expertise within Nutreco. A part of the scope is to implement the outcomes of the completed Customs Risks & Opportunities project. Another important task is to be an important teamplayer in the “Brexit” project as well as being the continued first point of contact for the business when it comes to all customs related affairs. What are you going to do
The ECAM Customs and Trade Manager will be part of the global logistic procurement team and will assist the global logistics procurement team in being world class in sourcing and execution of global logistics to serve Nutreco’s businesses, suppliers and customers. (=our Mission & Vision). He or she will report directly into the Global Category Manager Logistics with a dotted line to the Indirect tax manager responsible for customs within Nutreco Group Tax.
What are your key accountabilities?
Implementing the outcomes of a Customs Risks & Opportunity project, like correct classification of raw materials and end products (taric/HS codes);
Be an important teamplayer in the “Brexit”project to ensure a successful Brexit transition;
Work in close cooperation with Nutreco Group Tax on building on an EMEA Customs group and bring the current decentralised management of customs management to a central lead Customs group 2.0 version;
Identifying the possibilities to set up inhouse Customs reporting for import, IPR etc. and implementing improved Customs related tools/systems;
Support on application of AEO authorisations and implementation of internal control program;
Identifying sourcing opportunities with respect to reduced import duties and ensure correct Preferential / Origin related questions, investigations, calculations and FTA’s;
Support in looking for opportunities in the customs duty management regime, like IPR/OPR,bonded warehousing etc;
Act as Subject Matter Export on all customs related affairs and training of local operating company trainers and/or users of Customs systems;
Assign HTS codes for new products and maintain an accurate HTS database for Nutreco’s businesses;
Maintain appropriate record keeping and due diligence in accordance with all governing regulatory requirements;
Manage the Import / Export Controls policy (procedures, documentation and manuals) and conduct regular internaltrade compliance audits/reviews to assure trade compliance effectiveness;
Audit customs import entries and export shipments;
Support external audits from customs authorities;
Support implementation of other (supply chain related) projects where requested;
Support execution of tenders for al modalities (air, ocean, warehousing and land transport) where requested;
Any other (logistics related) administration, procurement and execution related activities.
The outcomes will need to be implemented across all the Nutreco operating companies of Cluster ECAM with a further worldwide implementation potential across Nutreco.
The Customs and Trade Manager will prepare, lead & execute projects jointly with Global Indirect Tax, Global Operations, Procurement, Clusters, OpCos and external parties, (carriers, forwarders, brokers). He/ She will aline with business needs and project management methods and techniques (including the defined project management frameworks), to deliver the projects according to the agreed objectives in time, in full scope and in budget.

Besides that, you are strong analytical and able to effectively communicate (in written and spoken English) about your analysis and results. And you are an excellent networker; You are able to build relationships between business and Global Logistics Procurement. You are an excellent team worker and are able to work closely together with Global Indirect Tax and you always keep your stakeholders aligned.
The role typically requires
Strong analytical skills;
Project management skills and experience (ideally with regognized certification of project Management);
Customs depth knowledge and experience. Ideally prior experience in the rolling out of Customs Risk & Opportunity project in a multinational organization;
Associated tools and systems
What you bring
Bachelor degree / level, preferable in Customs/Logistics/International Trade or equal by experience. Business Applications Knowledge of (IPMA, PMP, or similar), certificate is a preference; project management systems/tools/methods knowledge and experience (proven in Scrum and/or Agile is a preference);
At least 5-6 Years working experience as in the area of customs or in an (international) working environment within in international logistics (customs declarant or equivalent);
Experience with E-customs systems suchs as Atlas, AGS etc.
Experience in development/selection process of business applications and its implementations; preferably Customs Management Solutions covering the whole customs process.
Some experience with ERP or related systems (e.g. M3, BI Tools);
Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
