Customer Lead | Global Trade & Working Capital Solutions - ING Labs
Do these words resonate to you? Do you have affinity with global trade and logistics from a B2B commercial aspect? If yes, keep reading. If not, this is not for you
We are looking for a Customer person at heart specialized in the Midcorps and SME segments (Small and Medium Enterprises) with an expertise in commercial finance or working capital solutions to join an initiative in an early stage of our innovation funnel.
The opportunity to develop
To import container goods from overseas to Europe requires coordination and collaboration between several partners within the supply chain. International trade is still paper-intensive and there is limited transparency in the status of orders and activities. The logistic branch is slowly digitizing and due to Corona the need for a digital solution has gained momentum and higher demand. Working capital is an issue for both the importer and supplier, with long lead-times and increasing payment terms.
We see the opportunity to develop a platform to provide asset based import finance to Midcorps and SMEs using the digital data and documents from logistic service providers.
We like to think big and start where we have a competitive advantage. We will start from a problem that we identify towards building a solution. This initiative may be an entry point to create an ecosystem of supply chain/trade services together with other players.
You will conduct experiments to shape and validate a proposition for a new service for importers of container goods and their financial- and logistic service providers
You will work with the Initiative lead and a service designer to further investigate the pains and gains of these importers, financial- and logistic service providers
You will validate if these needs also exist in other EU-countries in addition to the Netherlands and based on these insights you will support to define the market- and business potential of the identified opportunity.
Identifying potential platform producers and partners supported by the ING Fintech team
Planning, preparing and executing customer interviews, surveys and experiments to prove or fail assumptions that build up the initial business case
Using INGs PACE methodology to capture the findings and run more experiments
Making sure the customers point of view is represented throughout all stages
Developing a specific description of target segment/s, and how to reach them
Creating a customer facing description of the new proposition
Supporting the market investigation to identify and analyze comparable solutions (alternatives/competitors)
Informing the business model and a high level business case
Testing a minimal viable product (MVP)
Creating a marketing and communication plan
In 3 months, you will help build a strong pitch for the next stage gate (to enter the Solution-fit phase), and contribute to:
A validated customer problem and willingness to pay
A validated target customer
Prototyping requirements for an MVP
A delivery plan for the next stage
Along the way, key assumptions will be validated with the goal of creating a new start-up and later scale-up, inside or outside of ING.
