With each other
The Leveraged Lending Europe team brings talented people together to structure, execute and manage event driven financing in close cooperation with Sponsor Coverage and other departments including Loan Syndications and Risk Management. Recently, the Leveraged Lending Europe team became part of Core Lending in the different regions and going forward we will also cover Leveraged Lending for non PE owned companies. Rabobank Leveraged Lending is a leading arranger across the entire spectrum of the European leveraged finance market, following Rabobank’s Banking for the Netherlands and Banking for Food strategy. As of 2020 Leveraged Lending has a mandate to book European transactions in the Netherlands: as a result of that we are very much an internationally focused team. We often act as lead arranger on transactions and occasionally participate in transactions led by other banks. Our customers are financial sponsors, who acquire a controlling interest in a target company, by using capital raised via funds under their management. Transactions are generally structured on the basis of the cash-flow generating capacity of the party to be acquired. Funding can take the form of senior, mezzanine or other subordinated debt instruments. With you, the Leveraged Lending Utrecht team consists of c. 30 diverse colleagues (including 15 analysts) in a variety of roles, including:
Marie-Fleur Broekhuijsen, Associate Director Leveraged Lending: “Working at our department offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, together with many talented, fun and ambitious colleagues. You will be working for one of the most interesting client bases of the bank. Risks are higher compared to most departments, timelines are short and your learning curve will be steep. Our culture enables you to strongly develop yourself and to quickly grow your responsibilities within our team, but at the same time also leaves room for more than enough fun.”
Siem Schreurs, Senior Associate Leveraged Lending: “For me, LL is the perfect environment to learn credit analysis from a commercial perspective. I think leveraged finance is all about understanding the underlying credit well in terms of current and future (out-) performance but on the other hand also think through the possible downside scenarios and how the bank can mitigate the risks in such an event. The department is unique in offering a great pool of energized and clever colleagues with various backgrounds in a.o. capital markets, legal and restructuring. This enhances a broad and steep learning curve. In other words, don’t think about where to start, think about when!”
